Zimbabweans we are complete fools in wise men’s clothing. Venting our anger on South Africans who are demanding their country back is utmost stupidity. What’s wrong with a country not wanting illegal immigrants. Bark at ZANU PF, which is your enemy since it ruined the economy, not South African musicians for their silence or other South Africans protesting against undocumented immigrants. You did not even need to go to South Africa to over populate their country if we had a functional economy. Our local artists are quiet when our own economy is being ruined, when corruption is rife, when we are being oppressed by the ZANU PF government. Our artists are actually receiving bribes in the form of cars and money from the same thieves bleeding the economy but you still praise them and attend their shows. You have never boycotted their shows for dining with oppressors but you actually congratulate them when they are bribed (that’s stupidity). On the other hand, South African musicians keep quiet when their fellow citizens are demanding their country back, all hell breaks loose. We are cowards who are foolish, very dangerous to ourselves!

🔸When I say we need new leaders, this is what I mean. Whether we like it or not, the majority of the star players in European and American teams are of African heritage. Most of them, their parents or grandparents ended up leaving the Continent for greener pastures because of either a lack of opportunity, poor economic conditions, war or some other manifestation of bad governance. The undeniable talent of these players demonstrates beyond doubt that, with the right ecosystem, our people can thrive and reach the top. They often do in optimal environments. There’s no gain saying that every nation rises or falls on the quality of its leaders. Good leaders create strong economies where freedom, fairness and opportunity are available to all. The ecosystem makes fertile ground for success. Bad leaders do the opposite. Like everything else, fixing the leadership crisis on the Continent will significantly improve our outcomes in football. Competent leaders should be able to see that winning can never be a miracle. It takes work. There has to be a solid investment in the infrastructure around the game - strong junior academies, more investment in training expertise, more high performance centres, stronger local leagues, better stadia and sharper thinking around the business of the game. Teams that lose after the 80th minute aren’t worse at the game. They are simply outperformed by teams whose mentality has been honed by a strong ecosystem almost from the start. Everything is optimized for grand success. They don’t have to worry about the little things like whether or not they’ve been paid their bonuses. Their facilities and training camps are the best in the world. Their sponsors come to the party. The stadia are full to the brim with their supporters. You don’t just “get a winning mentality”. It’s the product of very deliberate investment, competent administration and a serious commitment over time by national leaders to take football seriously and in effect, “play the game” - to win. We need new leaders.🇿🇼

My brother, if someone commits a crime—whether they have shot or killed someone—it is not my responsibility, or anyone else’s, to respond by burning people’s property. My responsibility is to call the police. No one in South Africa, or anywhere in the civilised world, has the right to burn another person’s property, regardless of what crime may have been committed. The duty of the police is to arrest suspects, take them to the police station, charge them, bring them before a court, and, if they are found guilty, send them to prison. That is how a democracy functions. That is how a civilised society upholds the rule of law. Trying to justify arson and the destruction of property by saying, “this person did this, therefore their property deserved to be burnt,” is nothing more than an attempt to excuse criminality. Vigilantism is not justice. It is lawlessness. And let us not forget what triggered all of this in the first place, these xenophobic marches. They will not create jobs except intimidating and harassing innocent people, damaging property, tarnishing South Africa’s image, and diverting scarce public resources that could have been used to address the real problems facing the country.
