@Bronx_wrangler @JayLNkosi Economics is about structure, productivity, diversification, capital markets, and institutional depth, areas where South Africa still outperforms most of the continent despite minimal growth. BTW I’ve been to many actual business hubs in Africa than you.

Having spent a few days in SA there is a sombre feeling over the place. I have it on good grounds that service delivery especially the dial-a-delivery system is totally significantly dysfunctional. Volumes are down 50-60% because there is simply no drivers of cars & motor bikes to execute the orders. I heard frightening numbers of the losses that commercial sectors are facing at a seminar I attended. I have many friends who are executives in SA who had domestics & gardeners who had become part of their family and partly raised their children freeing them up to be cutting edge professionals. They are grieving over some of the recent changes. Some are slowly returning. I don’t gloat over the problem for SA nor denigrate those who left grudgingly to return to Zim, Malawi or Moz. I think in this day of AI 🤖 immigration can be tracked monitored even controlled for economic advantage & even seasonal gains when needed. A functional, prosperous & well resourced SA is good for the region & for the world we all “use” South Africa from within & from without & alongside. I met some clever people who are helping solve the problem

@Bavaria22426300 No, dear. Your minister was almost in tears, and the entire hall couldn’t shrink that Nigerian journalist. That is the Nigerian spirit you people simply cannot stand. 😌

She asked a legitimate question. A South African minister publicly labelled Nigerians as drug dealers, and a Nigerian journalist asked for accountability. Instead of answering, suddenly the question was “disrespectful” and she was threatened with being kicked out. At this point, I genuinely believe some South Africans are simply intimidated by Nigerians. The hostility is becoming irrational. You cannot publicly stereotype an entire nationality and then become offended when a Nigerian has the audacity to question you. She asked a question. If the statement was defensible, defend it. Threats and intimidation are not answers.

“Now, to the Nigerian journalist: thank you for your questions, and I can also hear your anger. You referred to four cases — I encourage you to give me that information and I will follow it up. But the purpose of your question was to suggest that Nigerians are a special category of people.” Acting Police Minister Firoz Cachalia

Dear South Africans, Do you see what we have been complaining about all along? Whenever a chance presents itself, your leaders choose to aid and abet our suffering as Zimbabweans. You might undermine the weight of this behavior, but trust me, it works directly against us. Right now, the King has traveled to Zimbabwe to meet with a ZANU-PF government that has destroyed our country. They have made life so unbearable that ordinary citizens are forced to flee, only to face intense harassment, xenophobia, and violence in places like KwaZulu-Natal. Yet, the ZANU-PF government does absolutely nothing to protect or help these vulnerable Zimbabweans. What exactly is the King discussing? It changes nothing. Ordinary South Africans are programmed to hate Zimbabweans even the innocent ones. The King could be a powerful voice if he used his platform to condemn this behavior and call out the Zimbabwean government for neglecting its people. Instead, leaders come, take bribes, and promote ZANU-PF while many Zimbabweans risk everything just to stay in South Africa illegally because life is difficult back home. Please, South Africans, help us shun any of your leaders who associate with and legitimize ZANU-PF. They are the core reason for the crisis in Zimbabwe.

This is eroding South Africa’s international reputation bit by bit, and whoever hates South Africa and is behind this must be extremely happy. Not a single day has passed since 30 June without South Africa receiving negative international publicity. Many people abroad may end up cancelling their bookings for fear of violence, something that has long been a concern for those considering visiting South Africa. The hard work of South Africa’s tourism boards, associations and businesses is being undone before our very eyes. A country’s image takes years to build, but it can be damaged in a matter of days.

Fools go and open the shops we left behind and work. Your presenters look so malnourished. Asake made billions out of your damn country because y'all are crazy about Nigerian art and non of your artist can compare. Your ladies love our boys sorry they don't have to work because our boys are financially capable. You guys can fight like animals because you dress and dance like real Apes instead of making money and taking care of you ladies. But you can apply to fight Boko Haram for us and we will pay you in billions. Only Asake and Davido can pay your hungry youths to fight while we bang your ladies. Go and open the shops and stop talking about Nigeria. Even in our hard days with APC regime we are still better than you Black South Africans.

Suggestion for unemployed South African youth: Go to areas with foreigners & volunteer to work with them. Especially car workshops, phone repair spaces, hair salons, furniture making, clothing printing & making. Working with foreigners is one of the best schools for skills.

I haven't stopped thinking about a brilliant little girl named Faith that I met outside the Malawian consulate in Joburg. She was born in South Africa but her whole family is undocumented. Her dad - a gardener - said they were kicked out of their house and he lost his job
