@nic_carter Yeah, Pet Sounds is carrying a lot of pretty frivolous records. You could make a similar argument for the stones, longevity has corrupted some of their better work. Same can’t be said of the Beatles, nor Radiohead. Post-debut their albums are phenomenal through and through.

Has anyone ever convincingly explained why Britain was the absolute center of the rock universe in the 60s and 70s and still punched way above its weight in the 80s? If I’m not mistaken, the Utahs athletics program is a beneficiary of taxpayer funds, if taxpayers invested in and supported the development of the valuable brand assets, shouldn’t they also participate in the profits and receive tax breaks for any losses?
