I am so proud of the prep and response the healthcare teams in the Ontario LTC Sector. We cannot forget our most vulnerable. We must protect them. The Italian situation is a tragedy all around. My heart goes out to those experiencing this reality around the world.

A SILENT TRAGEDY. While the official #COVIDー19 Italian death toll is tragic, what is worse are the thousands of older Nursing Home residents who have been dying silently - never tested, and therefore never counted. Let's not let this happen in Canada. reut.rs/2Ui67Sr

In case it’s helpful I made a quick top 10 list of tips to help #seniors facing #isolation because of #COVIDー19
1) try iPad or tablet (with consent)and leave FaceTime or Skype on so they feel part of your household.

To combat the spread of #COVIDー19 and on the recommendation of the Ministry of Health, we are now limiting visitors to only essential visitors – those who have a resident who is very ill or dying. During this time, families will be asked to care from a distance.

We have instructed Ontario's long-term care homes to implement active screening of all staff, volunteers, visitors and new or returning residents. In doing so, we can better protect our most vulnerable from #COVID19. news.ontario.ca/mltc/en/2020/0…

“Nothing about me without me” Person and Family Centred Care @Southlake_News Thank you @RNAO @DorisGrinspun

@Ashley_Promyse Oh I see 😪 Yes, that's a very short window, especially if the person in question values time up and out of bed 😪😪
English

@DanielaAcostaRN Absolutely with you! I am not getting up at 5am :) I can barely do that now!
Trouble in this case is 3pm AM care and 4:30pm scheduled PM care while at home 😥 Doesn't leave much time to get anything done for fun or purpose.

Well... that is a new one. I thought 4pm was too early for PM care. What are your thoughts on 3pm for morning care?
