@thetect0nic @shiri_shh Post doesn’t imply anything, it just states factual information. The image in the post also clarifies that they’re hiring a policy manager. People memeing on the internet is not news in 2026.
English

Fair point and you're right that offensive expertise is standard in defensive roles.
Penetration testers are hackers. Red teamers think like attackers. The analogy holds.
Where the post fails is not in the job title, it's in the context and the reaction it produced.
Dropping "Anthropic is hiring chemical weapons experts" into that frame, without the defensive context, implied weapons development, not misuse prevention.
The evidence is in the replies: nuclear explosion GIFs, Breaking Bad memes, people genuinely believing Anthropic was building weapons.
If the post was simply factual and the framing was neutral, the audience wouldn't have read it that way.
The title is accurate.
What the audience understood from it is the framing.
English

@thetect0nic @shiri_shh Do you not think that you need to be a chemical weapons expert to prevent chemical weapon misuse? You compared it to cybersecurity, who do you think they hire to prevent malicious cybersecurity misuse? I’ll tell you, they hire OFFENSIVE SECURITY EXPERTS. The post is factual.
English

The post says "Anthropic just opened a new role... they're hiring chemical weapons experts now."
The job title is Policy Manager, Chemical Weapons and High Yield Explosives.
The role is explicitly to prevent misuse to build guardrails ensuring Claude cannot help synthesize dangerous materials.
"Hiring chemical weapons experts" and "hiring an expert to prevent chemical weapons misuse" describe the same person doing opposite things.
A cybersecurity expert hired to prevent hacking is not a hacker.
The title is accurate. The framing, presented without context in a thread about Palantir and military AI, implies the opposite of what the role actually does.
That implication is the framing.
English

@thetect0nic @shiri_shh You are making up the “framing”. The post never states they are hiring an expert in order to make weapons. The post is factually correct as they will hire an expert.
English

The job title is real. The framing is not.
Anthropic is hiring a Policy Manager to prevent chemical weapons misuse, to build guardrails ensuring Claude cannot help anyone synthesize dangerous materials.
This is the opposite of "hiring chemical weapons experts."
It is the same logic as hiring a cybersecurity expert to prevent hacking, not to hack.
The company that was expelled from the Pentagon for refusing to remove safety limits is hiring someone to add more safety limits.
The company whose model now runs in Pentagon targeting systems with no such limits posted nothing.

@eiversa1 @Amockx2022 Talk about misinformation. The US is Spain’s biggest gas supplier, more than twice Russia’s. Maybe look it up before posting, you absolute muppet

Someone please genuinely explain me what’s so special about this country that so many politicians and leaders are showing spine?
And why no other EU country is showing such resistance against attack on Iran?
Is PM Pedro Sanchez the factor or something else?

@ShadzMangaOnly @mzudemy You are just wrong and volume 28’s extras disprove you.

As a past Sorcerer it's funny that he's based his CT around modern receipts & that his name is Reggie Star..
Though I think he could just be an example of a reincarnated Sorcerer who actually wanted to leave their past life behind. Fully embracing the 2nd chance given by Kenjaku.
I think he probably got excited by finding an easy modern medium for his Contract CT & went all in. Adapting his fighting style to this within the 12 days..
I think his oddly modern name could also follow this mindset. Reggie adopting the name of his host body for himself instead of retaining his old name..
I think that fits very well, addresses the out of place aspects of his character & adds to the variety of reincarnated sorcerers realistically. 👌🏽

@Critical_Scribe This would be a great point if Oda hadn’t mentioned several times that he regretted making Luffy so strong the first arcs. What you are seeing is just Oda using this chance to fix his mistakes
English

Correct me if I’m wrong, but doesn’t Luffy decisively beat Wapol’s ass everytime they fight by himself in the manga?
Like, it’s zero contest.
Not sure if I enjoy the constant depowering of Luffy in this adaptation since he’s a force of nature for a while in the manga.
That’s what makes his eventual complete loss (which should appear this season) so impactful.
This is reminding me of that change they made to Usopp’s arc in season 1 where they got rid of his heroic stand with the Straw Hats on the hill in favor for some hide and seek chase in the mansion.
If they kept it to the original, it would have those same beats to make the highs feel much more satisfying in the end.
This is my personal issue with the LA. I don’t so much mind the whimsy and camp (we really need more of it to balance out the cynicism, tbh) it’s all these unnecessary changes to what is really solid storytelling in the manga in favor of lesser ones for reasons that don’t appear to be clear to me.
I’m glad people enjoy One Piece, but if all they’re getting is the LA then I gotta say, they’re getting the worse version of the story overall.

#ONEPIECE

@Makouisen @ImNotScottySire That doesn’t mean shit, it sucks anybody can give a good rating
English

one piece live action is so perfectly camp there’s literally nothing to hate on.
bad wig? no, it’s hilarious.
bad acting? no, they’re capturing the silliness of the cartoon.
And then they nail the hard hitting emotional moments as well.
i legit don’t get the negative comments it’s so good hahaha
