It's been 14 years since Trayvon Martin was killed simply because of the color of his skin. He was just a teenager. My heart breaks for his family, who never got justice. No parent should fear for their child's safety because of their skin color. The rhetoric and policies at the top have put more of our kids in harm's way. We must keep fighting for a country where every child is protected and safe.

I feel like politics have too much become "Us vs. Them" and not "We both have issues that have overlap, how can we fix them in a reasonable way?" We spend so much time arguing about the why that even when we agree on the how, we still fight.

Firing his gun wasn't self defense if he was the aggressor, eyewitnesses only start partway through the fight during the part where Treyvon was winning, without knowing who started it.

Sure, based on public records: - July 2005: Arrested for assaulting/shoving an undercover officer at a bar. Charges dropped after diversion/alcohol program. - Nov 18, 2013: Arrested for aggravated assault with weapon (pointed shotgun at girlfriend), domestic violence battery, criminal mischief. Dropped after victim requested. - Jan 9, 2015: Arrested for aggravated assault/domestic violence (threw wine bottle at girlfriend). Dropped after victim recanted. - Oct 2019: Arrested after disturbance call in Apopka, FL. Released, no charges filed. No convictions from these.

When one says "Like" and proceeds to list an unrealistically large number, it is generally understood to be hyperbole.

Witnesses didn't say they saw Treyvon start the fight.
