Free mint $GAS BTNS token The $GAS token has been deployed by the BTNS devs as the "official" protocol token May be used as an anti-spam mechanism in the future (hence, it may have utility) This post explains how to mint it 🟧Mint information (see link in the next post for more details) 🔸It's a free mint (in four phases) with a total supply of 10 million 🔸In the first phase, you can mint up to 60 tokens (till block 832,215) 🟧Follow these steps: 1) Install FreeWallet desktop app (see link in the next post) 2) Copy a receiving Segwit address (starts with "bc1q") 3) Send $40 worth of BTC to the address 4) Mint the $GAS token Copy the text string "bt:MINT|0|GAS|60" into the Message field Click Broadcast Message 🟧Further tips: 🔸Send the first broadcast with a high fee setting Wait until your broadcast was included in a block (you can check it with the transaction hash on mempool(dot)space or xchain(dot)io Check whether your broadcast was picked up by the BTNS indexer (see link in the next post) 🔸Do not send the next broadcast too soon You have to wait at least one minute because the BTNS indexer picks up only one broadcast per address every minute 🔸You can only mint 1,000 $GAS tokens per address In the first phase, that's max 17 mints (16*60 + 1*40) With current low fees (< 20 sat/vB), you only need $40 worth of BTC per wallet Plus a few extra to trade OTC or to open up a dispenser later on 🔸Wait for low fees (< 20 sat/vB) There is no rush at the moment The mint period is several weeks long and you should aim for low fee periods 🔸Tip: send $40 worth of BTC to three addresses, change address after every broadcast Rotate between these three addresses (i.e., first broadcast from address 1, then from address 2, then address 3, repeat with address 1 and so on), stop after 17 mints per address
