@GreenTyler27 They’re not detailed policies, they are closer to being platitudes with hidden meanings like extending the life of coal at the expense of the expansion of renewables.

The biggest criticism of One Nation I hear the most is that we don’t have policies. Here are three. ⚡ Energy: Deliver reliable, affordable power by supporting a technology-neutral energy mix, reducing unnecessary regulatory barriers and prioritising energy security to lower household and business power bills. 🏠 Housing: Restore housing affordability by increasing supply, reducing planning delays and red tape and aligning migration settings with Australia’s capacity to build homes and infrastructure. 🇦🇺 Immigration: Set migration at sustainable levels that match housing, infrastructure and labour market capacity, while prioritising skilled migrants who contribute to Australia’s long-term prosperity. Australians don’t just need another party pointing out the problems. They need a government with practical policies that put affordable energy, affordable housing and Australian families first.

@realRick_AUS Tony Abbott, the darling of the right, broke a heap of fundamental election promises and Johnny came up with core and non-core election promises.

Has anyone asked how long the treasury department had been costing the changes to CGT and super? There’s no way they could’ve had it modelled so quickly after Anthony Albanese and Jim Chalmers had repeatedly lied to us that they weren’t going to change it?

When private Australians are spending their own money on billboards to protest government tax policy, it’s a sign that many people believe something has gone badly wrong. People don’t pay for billboards because they’re bored, they do it because they feel they’re not being heard. The criticism isn’t just about one proposed tax change. For many Australians, it’s about trust. If voters believe they were promised one thing before an election and are now seeing a different approach afterwards, confidence in government inevitably suffers. Whether you agree with the campaign or not, it reflects genuine concern among some Australians that investment, entrepreneurship and getting ahead are being discouraged rather than rewarded. In a cost-of-living crisis, economic policy should encourage aspiration, investment and growth, not leave people wondering whether success is even possible anymore.

Worried about the polls. Wait until the Labor new taxes kick in. Some people need a good bitch slap to wake up. Labor have 2 more years to screw people over. Give them time to lie a bit more. Vote @OneNationAus

@Donsvess A bit of downward pressure on house prices won’t be a bad thing. Also, I don’t think rents gone through the roof since the budget?

Auction clearance rates have plummeted. Nobody is selling. Rents are up, through the roof. More and More experts are saying Labor's toxic taxes are making the housing crisis worse. Poor old Australia under Labor!!

Dave Hughes is one of Australia’s most recognisable comedians. His comments on the economy following the Federal Budget have sparked plenty of discussion. We sat down to unpack his views, the issues behind them, and why they resonate with many Australians. Search Straight Talk wherever you get your podcasts. @DHughesy

@FL480 @juliemonry You don’t even know what promises Abbott broke. Also, I don’t know what’s obscene about making the tax treatment of income from capital more comparable to the taxation of income from labour.
