@MikhailaFuller @theliondiet So all of these "Doctors" are coming out at once to condemn carnivore "at the exact same time". Thats a paid campaign. Someone is paying them despite the oath that they take. They're not Doctors they're shills.

Using a strict meat diet (@theliondiet) in a desperate attempt to heal disease that mainstream medicine has failed to treat, and then healing and reintroducing a wider variety of food without disease, isn’t a failure of the carnivore diet, it’s a success. Recently I’ve been used as an example of someone who has “quit”. This is incorrect. During this pregnancy (I’m 36 weeks), due to a very severe meat (beef) aversion, I varied the diet in the first and third trimester to include chicken and some cooked vegetables (staying in ketosis seemed to be necessary for mood stability). More recently because of the chicken and few vegetable reintroductions, I’ve had some joint pain return in the joints that used to have arthritis, and my mood isn’t as good (although it’s very difficult to differentiate between hormones and depression symptoms). Once this baby is born in a few weeks, and the meat aversion ends, I’ll be back to the lion diet strictly. And I am very much looking forward to that. Varying the diet was out of necessity and it’s frustrating. I feel better on it still. If 4ish months in the last year of me including chicken and arugula along with beef, and a few other ingredients because I can’t stomach beef when pregnant, out of 8.5 years of only eating meat “proves” something to you, (after remission from JRA and major depressive disorder, and removal of all 8 medications I was on)… 🤦‍♀️ However, even though I am going to be returning to the diet strictly in a matter of weeks, I am MUCH less sensitive to reintroductions than I was. Which feels like healing. Food reintroductions used to take me out for 3-4 weeks. Now it’s mild symptoms for a day (although we’re talking about trying some vegetables and chicken, not processed foods obviously), and some joint pain. Nothing compared to before. The argument that people who aren’t that ill will try it and stop, therefore it doesn’t work, is silly. There’s no need to be so restricted in the first place. The argument that sick people try it, get better, and reintroduce foods, so it doesn’t work, is silly because the entire point is healing. The fact some people (like me) are on it long term and feel better is likely a sign of how sensitive these people are, how damaged by previous medical treatment they are, or how serious their disease was. Being on a meat diet is a no brainer compared to being diseased. The carnivore diet (or for me @theliondiet) can be life changing for people, seems to be overwhelmingly successful in cases of disease, and is safe long term (particularly when you compare it to the dangers of the disease being treated, or the medications used to treat it). Anyone who has some stupid elevator pitch about how the diet is just lower calorie, or the effects are just due to weight loss, or it’s not ideal long term, or that people reintroduce foods so it doesn’t work, should be promptly ignored. Studies will eventually prove (as they slowly are already) that these people don’t know what they’re talking about. This is a therapeutic diet. It will be a medical treatment soon. The ketogenic diet already is. The fact that there are opportunistic charlatans taking advantage of the controversy of the carnivore diet to sell products or push their agenda also doesn’t detract from the efficacy of the diet. Although I am not a fan of those people. They shine a bad light on this. In 2017 when I started the diet, it was ridiculed. Now research papers into the carnivore diet are increasing, and research into ketosis for metabolic disorders is skyrocketing (much thanks to @Metabolic_Mind). Follow the people that talk about this with nuance, and interest. Not “it’s just low calorie bro” morons. Or influencers that recommend you drink green smoothies. :) I hope you enjoyed my Ted Talk.

But it seems part of the controversy is answering, why do some people not stay on carnivore long term? I would ask, why don’t people stay on any diet long term? Restriction of any kind can be tough. Life and health situations change. But it seems coming off a carnivore diet is celebrated in mainstream medical and dietary communities, more so than any other diet. But here is something that rarely gets discussed. Some people stop because it worked. Their initial health condition improved enough that they felt ready to carefully reintroduce plant foods, maintain the benefits they gained, and build a more varied long-term dietary pattern. And it’s important to note that they aren’t stopping because of scurvy or severe nutrient deficiencies as some would fear.

The funniest thing in Australian politics is a politician who was born in Australia who can barely speak English complaining about people who spent the majority of their lives living abroad but can still speak better English than her.

Not only have the Labor and Greens voted against every woman who doesn't want a biological man to enter female only spaces, they've blocked Parliament from having the debate whatsoever.

What I think is hilarious is that these right wing people like Hughes,Karl and that recently fired radio jock is that they think setting up analternative right wing media platform will give them a huge audience and income..but newsflash we are not as big as the USA and there's not enough Pauline supporters to support everyone. Junkie Hughes will still be screaming for a few months but I expect they will all fade away soon enough.

@TheJoeySwoll I actually don't have any issue with her feeling that way, if she perceives a threat or feels uncomfortable in a situation thats fine. let's not guilt women into ignoring their instinct. The only problem is she posted it in my opinion.
