Daniel Kinahan has been arrested in connection with alleged serious organised crime offences.
Kinahan was arrested in Dubai following an arrest warrant issued by the Irish courts, per Irish broadcaster RTE.
Dubai Police said the arrest took place on April 15 after what they described as extensive search and surveillance operations.

@DannyFlexen1 The ‘did you buy a ticket’ argument is often repeated. No, I never did when I covered a fight but I reckon my pre-fight previews did sell a few for the promotion. Doesn’t guarantee me a seat at ringside but needed to see what is going on at small hall shows with no screens TV etc

@DannyFlexen1 Spot on. Newspapers also have websites and podcasts, which draw huge traffic.
But there are many people who think boxing media consists only of YT and X.
The more eyes there are on the sport provide it with a better chance of success.

I see this post isn't getting a lot of support, so let me just add that without the support of mainstream media (inc newspapers) boxing will become increasingly marginalised. The harder the promoter makes it for those media reps, the more elusive that valuable support becomes.

@ME_MURPHY13 I can only speak from personal experience, having once covered shows for Boxing News. The better the seat/view, the more accurate and detailed the coverage.

@DannyFlexen1 Whatever way i think about it, the only benefit that would come of a reporter having better seats would be solely for the reporter themselves.

@ME_MURPHY13 It depends if they are afforded poor seats at every event. A promoter gains from having accurate reporting IF the show is of good quality.

@DannyFlexen1 Does that mean you're of the opinion that they're not currently proving accurate reports? No way a promoter gains from it and I dont think the reporters view changes the number of people who read the end product, so theirs no gain for them either.
