@JoannaDonnellyL No disrespect but the bus has no business either then If the truck & bus weren't approaching each other at that spot, then there would have been no issue

I know I’m the one that’s going to get shit for posting this video, but please remember it’s always illegal to drive on a footpath. If your truck doesn’t fit on a road, find an alternative route. In this case it’s a <5min detour. #drivingoffences #baddriving #safeinfrastucture

@denismacdaid @MaryLouMcDonald You're bang on there. However there is a still a lot of people voting for x because they do a lot for their area, but they forget that x might be in one of the larger parties (and that leads to this).

Overnight, diesel up another 8c per litre. Home heating oil up another €100 for a fill. And what is Fianna Fáil and Fine Gael’s response? To tell people to wait until next Tuesday for them to hold another meeting! Another 6 days! More delay. They could cut fuel prices today if they wanted. They could implement what is in Sinn Féin’s legislation. This would ease the pressure on people right now. But they choose not to act. We will keep the pressure up until this do-nothing government does its job!

@denismacdaid @MaryLouMcDonald Our taxes on fuel are among the highest in the world. Other countries don't piss money away on bike shelters, security huts etc. Muppets in charge are the problem. They're the ones spending it

@MaryLouMcDonald But where would the money come from? What cuts would they have to make to fund handouts for fuel increases. People will have to live with this pressure . It is the price of living in this country. Oil will continue to go up for the foreseeable future and we cannot fund it.

Mick Walsh appreciation post. A referee had to pull out of the Masters tonight at the last minute. 2 teams on the pitch in Solar Park. A quick call to Mick Walsh to see could he save the game, Mick arrives and does the 2 matches. Great Servant of the game in the county.

@Linden_Lad @LPerrins @MichealMartinTD Great question..and there's been zero effort by Govt to change this or subsidise the cost, despite it being green & renewable. They are full of shit.....just milking us all for as much as they can

It would be absolute unconscionable for @MichealMartinTD to press ahead with carbon tax rises in April. Brent crude surged by almost 30% to $119.50 a barrel – the biggest single-day jump in 6 years. Goldman Sachs warned oil prices could hit $150 a barrel. Note during the Ukraine crisis, oil prices peaked at $120.

@PearseDoherty The only ones price gouging are the Government. It's laughable that elected officials haven't a clue how oil companies are charged. And yet the government continues to take in 65% of every litre of petrol/diesel (where was the uproar about that before now?)

The government has admitted that companies are price gouging as fuel costs soar - yet they refuse to act. Today they ruled out bringing forward cost-of-living supports. That is the wrong call. This comes just weeks before government imposes another carbon tax increase on fuel in May - a political choice by this government that will only make life harder for workers and families. Fianna Fáil and Fine Gael are standing aside while companies exploit a crisis and families pay the price. Words of acknowledgment are not enough. We need leadership and we need action. These companies must be reined in, and the government must act now to protect Irish households.

@endacazz @rorymcevoy Bang on Enda. Why was there no uproar before this? We're being rinsed by Government everywhere. HVO - clean, green renewable fuel. Would solve their emissions "problem". They won't subsidise that. Instead they want everyone to retrofit houses for gargantuan money..clowns

@rorymcevoy the gov are the biggest price gougers. 60 to 65% of a litre of fuel is tax. thats about €1.12 for every €1.74 goes to the gov. Imagine how much cheaper buying food would be if they reduced their tax take. we need to ask why they want the cost of living to remain high

Thrilling and all though Kobe McDonald's Mayo debut was, the man is only passing through. Will the sight of him in his teenage splendour, the glory that cannot be when we need it most, further tangle the mess that is the Mayo pysche. Well, dur - what do you think? Link below.

@BellewPaul @OKaneCahir @Galway_GAA And Rohan will answer! Shorter season means less spend on senior teams too, which County boads will love. I haven't heard of one player opposed to split season or asking for it to be extended. And the players are the most important people here surely? F*** the media

This from @OKaneCahir is a must listen. Demonstrates the lack of merit in extending the intercounty season. @Galway_GAA will strongly oppose the motion but will need help. It will be the death knell of the dual player/club. Calender reform without an extension is easily achieved.

August All-Ireland finals are a bullshit move. They make no positive difference to anyone except journalists. There isn’t a single solid argument to do it. This week’s podcast with @FindInsuranceNI Watch/listen YouTube: tinyurl.com/5n8s68e3 Spotify: tinyurl.com/2mud2kp3

@SmallerFishGAA @DannyMahon4 It’s a valid question though. So many players don’t even play consistently for their university if they’re on a county panel. The competition needs more promotion and to be taken more seriously

No official attendance at the Sigerson that i can find. Looked to be no more than 800 at it. I like the competition and won it in 1999 but with so little public interest in it, how can it be allowed cause so much disruption to the intercounty calendar

Unpopular because you've treated the staff like shit , the fans like shit , made us ashamed to be United fans , put our ticket prices and given us the worst football to watch with a useless manager that should have been sacked by last Easter . You have made United more hated worldwide than that Fcking Status Quo record
Rob Harris@RobHarris

Sir Jim Ratcliffe to @SkyNews: “I've been very unpopular at Manchester United because we've made lots of changes. But for the better, in my view … you've got all the same issues with the country. If you really want to deal with the major issues of immigration”
