He’s waiting to get there and then make a quick cut one way or the other. That play doesn’t usually happen, because good players follow close and don’t extend their arms to push

There’s clear intent here, he should get suspended for the rest of the season minimum.

I was coaching pee wee or bantams and one of my players got hit like that and was lying there, I was over the boards in a second and ran out there with my heart in my throat and when I got there he was turning himself over and starting to sit up. I almost started crying I was so relieved

Well he shouldn’t play 25-30 minutes a game, I’ve been saying it for over a year, every single time he’s overused he makes mistakes, like the one he did yesterday. Saying he did and moving on is better than finding ways to say it’s fine, I didn’t say he sucked, I didn’t say to bench him, I didn’t say anything other than he made the mistake, we lost, let’s forget about it and move on 🤷🏻‍♂️

Watching this again, I don't think it will result in a suspension. At first glance, it's a dangerous hit with clear intent against a vulnerable opponent. However, if you slow it down, you can see a Panthers logo. This means that the threshold for suspension is simply not met

As a society we've spent millions of dollars for little stop signs for kids backs in minor hockey as a prevention measure for hits exactly like this. This is as dangerous as they come, and it's going to be telling how DoPS handles this. If they don't throw the literal book at him, the next escalation is a life altering injury for a player all because DoPS forgot what their mission statement is. This should be a suspension for close to the remainder of the season. Tick tock.

This hit on Connor Zary is the most dangerous play in hockey & it’s completely avoidable. It’s also unacceptable by AJ Greer. It’s not a hockey play, it an intent to injure with the consequences being a broken neck & paralysis. I was injured just like this. No more.
