@MeatPolitics

Meat is the essence of life in which we cannot live without. I talk politics sometimes too.

@DJ0995295196413 @VinceGoodwill It's not that the opinion of the 'game was better', that'S a matter of taste. And I pretty much prefer more physicality/resistance or intense rivalries over what the game has to offer today. it'S not nostalgia since my opinion is not the same for the modern game of the nhl or nfl.

@DJ0995295196413 @VinceGoodwill AGain, you don'T get the term 'Context' here. I brought up concrete example/rule changes that forced the game to be vastly difference and you won'T acknowledge. Yes, athletes over time jump/run/swim faster (with caveats on improved surfaces, equipment, etc..)

@DJ0995295196413 @VinceGoodwill I'm not disputing that guys like Kawhi would deter him....but you'Re being extremely selecting with your argument here and are missing the point. I literally brought up the point with Adam Silver and Curry, but you won'T address it. x.com/allthesmokepro…
ALL THE SMOKE@allthesmokeprod

The league pays attention to the trends in gameplay more than most think. 🤔 Watch @KevinGarnett5KG’s sit down interview with Adam Silver on @Showtime Thursday night at 10pm ET/PT.

@DJ0995295196413 @VinceGoodwill are you seriously insinuated that jorden wouldn't have an easier time scoring today compared to what he had to go thru vs the pistons and Knicks? and what way is it 'harder'?silver explicitly stated how Stephen would have difficulty playing back in that era, thus the rule changes

@MeatPolitics @VinceGoodwill Im from that era I dont have tik Tok or any social media outside NBA twitter. The players are better now & the game is harder to play even with the rule changes…its no different than the NFL, if they played by the old rules with these modern athletes MFs would die on the field

@Jak3frmStfrm @HabsChronicle simple...I give dobes immense credit for keeping them in it. and where exactly am I knocking the habs? by stating that the canes have been the superior team thus far? are you that sensitive?

@MeatPolitics @HabsChronicle I love how you say the havs going to ot with Carolina is basically knocking the habs yet dont say the canes arnt as good as everyone says when they have to go to ot against a every exhausted young team. Habs were 2 goals from being up 3-1 but are only down 2-1.

Dobes played a phenomenal game tonight and his team could not return the favour. It's really disappointing all around. It starts with the coaches and ends with the players in front of him.

@ouhbick @Qdatbabydaddy @ApexJonesHACKED that's because they played defence and more physicality was allowed on the D-end. Also , the paint was complelety clogged up with bigs making difficult for slashing guards to score. Which makes Jordan's 50% FG more astonishing. Do use context in your arguments..

@Qdatbabydaddy @ApexJonesHACKED I grew up on the Bulls, loved Michael Jordan, but that team only scored 107 points per 100 possessions. Every team in today's NBA would sweep them based on nothing other than shot selection.

@thegoldenmuzzy Malkin's contract is solely linked to loyalty to the pens and of course him being a former great player. All due respect to Tavares, he was never in the same stratosphere as Malkin in their respective primes.

@The_Creasy this is literally one of the worst take here that I have seen on x. not about adding Arber, but his brother Florian. More engagement bait nonsense. Everybody knows this has 0% chance of happening.

Hot Take: Game 4 in Montreal, insert both Arber and Florian Xhekaj. Florian will bring so much energy to the crowd and this is the spark we're missing. Being tripled in hits every game is not a recipe for success. #GoHabsGo

@FriedgeHNIC I have no clue why the pens insist on signing on to their washed up vets. They are nowhere near a contender sticking with those guys and will only delay the inevitable reconstruction.

The reason they only take 12 or 13 shots is because MSL tells them to play that way. It has to stop. Shoot the effin puck. Create traffic. Hit Canes players. Clear your own crease. It ain't rocket science.

@KCATLMNDC @sharpshotBRob @grok @pj_schreiner "No, the shooting skills are the highest ever."...how do you quantify this? this sentence here is the biggest myth that's often perpetuated here...especially since 3pt% have gone up by solely 1-2% points compared to the 90s..It'S the volume that has gone up..

@sharpshotBRob @grok @MeatPolitics @pj_schreiner No, the shooting skills are the highest ever. The rest of what you see is a mix of rule changes and offensive analytics. Those changes have the sport less compelling and less watchable for the average viewer. This is actually a fairly simple and observable situation.

Basketball has changed so much. In some ways, this shows more of a team sport and the development of complex plays. In other ways, this reveals how much slower, less aggressive, and less athletic the game was. Boomers and millennials are going to hate to hear this, but the reality is the 2026 OKC and Spurs would dominate both these teams.

@shomari_15 @brendanshowbiz ok..the canes have nothing to do with it. the habs are the best team of all time and can beat anybody, the opposition is a non factor, it's 'we lost, they didn'T win"..the amount of delusional responses I see here are astounding. The canes have been the best team in the east.

@KCATLMNDC @sharpshotBRob @pj_schreiner exactly, I can't for the life of me understand how some can't put things into context. It's a lot easier to run with the ball today,as the refs allow a lot more flexibility in ball handling-ie:the gather step, cupping the ball from underneath, taking more steps in between dribbles

Playing defense is absolutely impossible. I don’t think anyone is debating that. Every aspect of the sport is tilted against a defender being able to stop people. This is why I find it inexplicable that they largely eliminated the carry rule (one of the main reasons older player videos show them dribbling that way - it was a violation every time to dribble the way current players dribble). And then further made traveling even more liberal. It was an intentional move that has blown up on the league.
