If using tear gas to control protestors is justification for regime change in Venezuela, why aren't the US and UK calling for Macron and Netanyahu to go? And if Maduro is the barbarian his critics claim he is, why is Guaido swanning around Caracas without a care in the world?

7/ My advice to Labour: get out of the talks now. Find shadow cabinet voices that can connect with our progressive mass base. Let the pro-Remain MEP candidates lead the EP election so we can mobilise our core supporters...

Local election results: 1/ Tories losing because they can't deliver Brexit, Labour losing because Brexit position confused, Libdems/Greens winning because they have clear pro-PV/anti-Brexit message. Confirms my view: a strong anti-Brexit line is in Labour's strategic interest...

@climate_peter If we didint have a FPTP system than this wouldn't happen, any election wether it be general, local or EU people will use it as a voice

@Socialismilucra @thedsggroup Also alot of the left is centred around Liberalism because its the pinnacle of capitalist economic policies, Neo-liberalism is an economic theory which is the complete opposite of Socialism, so of course our fight will mainly focus on fighting against Liberal economic policies.

@Socialismilucra @thedsggroup Dan has a point, Socialism is an economic theory that also ecompases various degrees of international solidarity to workers and self-determination. Dont let some Liberal Centrists take over the narrative, just like how we Lexiteers have not let the Ring wing Brexit narrative

I voted for Labour today in the local elections, I only had 4 choices, Lab, Tory, LibDem or UKIP. But that wont be the case in the EU elections, this will probably be the last time I vote Labour unless something changes with their Brexit plan, I cannot support a second referendum

@CarolineLucas Again, a complete lack of context behind why people voted leave. I personally wish Labour was the party of Brexit but it isn't.

In the battle we face today against rise of right wing anti-migrant populism, Labour *should* have taken a side Its failure to do so is devastating Young people, free movement & internationalism all abandoned Labour is now clearly a party of Brexit - & that’s a tragedy

@ChrisLeslieMP @UKLabour TIG's centrists are so blinkered by neoliberalism, theyre convinced were somehow better off inside the EU, and supporting liberal economic policies, despite alienating most of the working class. They are complicit in the decades of austerity, cuts, wars and financial crisis.

Labour’s hard left are so blinkered by ideology, they’re convinced we’re somehow better off outside the European Union. Sadly it’s the governing view of @UKLabour - despite being alien to its traditional values. They are complicit in the decade of #BrexitAusterity to come.

The real Coup leader Lopez has taken refuge in the Chilean embassy. The Guardian can barely contain its frustration. Lies are tumbling off their press. “Hundreds” of Maduro supporters gathered at the Presidential Palace they claim when the world watched tens of thousands do so/

/The Guardian and its ugly liberal sisters in Washington have worked tirelessly for years to bring about this #JohnBolton #ElliotAbrams coup. They are ready to fight to the last drop of #Venezuelan blood. They disgust me and should disgust all right-thinking people. #Venezuela

But the *reporting* of the #VenezuelaCoup is quite useful. It provides a nice clean way to tick off all those news sources that can be totally discarded. Forever. And that is a *lot* of pollution to have cleared away!
Caitlin Johnstone@caitoz

I've said it many times before, and I will say it again: Supporters of the #VenezuelaCoup are the single most obnoxious, vile and intellectually dishonest political group I've ever encountered. I'm including Russiagaters, militant Zionists, QAnon cultists, everyone. #Venezuela

@lewis_baston PSOE gained a lot of Podemos voters who where too scared of a PP/Vox coalition. The left didint win, social democrats won out of fear

It gives me absolutely no pleasure to bash the BBC but I thought its Spanish election headlines and coverage was lamentable. Shoehorning the result into a 'rise of the far right' narrative, leading with that regardless, never mind an actual swing to the left.
