That is how early-stage science explores hypothetical risks. But laboratory signals are not the same as demonstrated real-world harm. What often gets lost is the most important question in public health: compared to what? Even if third-hand vape exposure warrants further study, it remains fundamentally different from the well-established toxicity of third-hand cigarette smoke. This is exactly why nuance matters. Precautionary science should inform sensible discussion, not be weaponised to erase the overwhelming harm reduction benefit of moving people away from combustible tobacco. Context matters. Comparative risk matters. Harm reduction still matters.

Last night @WHOUkraine office in Kyiv was hit by debris from one of many strikes in the city, damaging windows on the 3rd floor. This building is home to many UN agencies besides WHO. No one got injured.   Multiple deaths and injuries have been reported so far from the attacks on civilian infrastructure over night. Attacks on health and civilians MUST STOP. We urge once again for a ceasefire. Peace is the best medicine.
