@L202473203 @KarlWuckert Israel kills Palestinian children seeking food. Do you really think they'd hesitate to take out someone they created to support them if they flipped? Those Satanists are worse than mobsters! At least mobsters have a code of conduct not to harm children. You're supporting evil.

@loveisblonde143 @scipio_nissim @Osint613 It's hilarious how all the podcast-bro bandwagon Republicans unveiled themselves so quickly. You didn't pay any attention before covid and then formed political views based on conspiracy theories and warped history. Low IQ

@ballyhoobutcher @aleksthgrt Yea thats what you guys keep saying but it doesn't appear to be happening. The Fuentes narrative is entirely supported by a hypothetical scenario where US ground troops invade Iran to enable Israeli colonization. None of you have paid any attention for the last 20 years

🚨BREAKING NEWS American far-right political commentator Nick Fuentes: Pray for Iran. Iran is currently fighting not only for itself, but for all of humanity. In a way, they are resisting for us too. Because if Iran falls, Israel will gain control over the entire Middle East. I don't think the real target is just Iran. Israel is coming towards you, and Iran is currently just an obstacle in its way.

@legithillbilly @KissaTobacco @cafreiman Gini is serevely limited as a measure economic stability/prosperity, especially for developing countries like India. Actaul income data is only kept in developed nations (US & Euro) - the rest (India, SE Asia, Africa) use consumptikn data which wayyyyyy understates inequality

@KissaTobacco @cafreiman Gini coefficient for India is nearly half the measure for the USA, so your assessment of inequality is not backed by the data. India is the 4th most equal country in the world by this measure.

@wilson_dunham_f @4TaxFairness Something along this idea - if we're going to tax wealth, it must be earmarked to pay down the debt/reduce deficits along with a clear plan to reign in spending.

@4TaxFairness Here's my plan. Every dime over $100B in wealth gets liquidated and goes directly to paying down the debt. Congress doesn't get a finger on any of it. Only affects about 12 people/families.

Americans For Tax Fairness
The richest 0.1% of Americans hold nearly as much wealth as the bottom 90% of families combined. And yet we keep cutting programs for working people to give more tax breaks to billionaires. We really, really need Elizabeth Warren's Ultra-Millionaire Tax Act.

@singulieroblige @tonyannett Property taxes are far easier to manage given how decentralized it is across thousands of counties combined with relatively low volatility in prices. Completey different from a wealth tax based on public/private equity holdings

Right. They say "oh it's impossible to administer a wealth tax". Oh really? Somehow my rinky dink county in the middle of nowhere can figure out aerial maps of my property and send around tax spies to determine my assessed value. I think we can figure how how to tax the wealth of billionaires.

If I can pay tax on the so-called “unrealized capital gains” on my house every year, the richest man in the world can bloody well do so for his obscene wealth. The deference shown to these oligarchs is breathtaking.
robert horrocks@roberthorrocks

@tonyannett Just a note behind that data. Musk actually paid $455mn in tax on $1.52 billion in the relevant period. The 3.3% number required one to add to income UNREALIZED CAPITAL GAINS. So, this is just a call to tax unrealized gains.

This is a great example of how liberals mistake a fact for a universal/objective truth. Truth/reality of something requires a rational interpretation of all relevant facts, not just the ones that align with your bias. Effective tax rate vs top marginal bracket is a good example of this

@loladze @ArthurBoreman You literally have it backwards. It's not supposed to be like the progressive income tax system , it's more like a forced insurance premium. SS "taxes" are earmarked and put into a separate trust fund-all other types of taxes/levies go into the Treasury General fund.

Dr. Loladze@loladze·
The 'cap' logic is a way to bypass the progressive tax system we claim to have. By framing SS as a separate 'insurance' fee rather than a tax, we've legalized a system where the wealthy pay a tiny fraction of their income compared to the poor. It’s a regressive structure hidden behind the guise of a contribution limit.

Arthur Boreman (yes, that Arthur Boreman)
People understand that the reason the taxes are capped is because the benefits are capped too, right? Like there is a very logical reason for why they do not collect over a certain amount and its one of rather basic fairness.
Conor Rogers@conorjrogers

One of the most radicalizing moments of my life was when I learned that they just stop collecting social security taxes on money earned over like $150K. Like you just suddenly keep 3-6% more money on all money over that threshold.

The idea of taxes on unrealized capital gains for illiquid assets is the stupidest economic policy ever dreamed up. It would be an economy-destroying measure that would basically eliminate the concept of privately owned companies (i.e., companies with equity not traded on the public markets). The death of private companies would result in the death of the major innovation engine that has made the USA the greatest economy in the world. Had such a scheme existed 50 years ago, Apple, Meta, Google, Tesla, Space-X, etc. etc. would never have come into being because they would never have been able to raise VC start-up capital. If this law were to come to pass, unemployment will skyrocket, innovation will plummet, standards of living will be reduced to third world levels, and capital will flee offshore. The nation will tumble into a decades-long Depression and none of the "social justice" ideas Big Chief Lizzie is speaking about will be affordable or even possible. This is the worst economic idea anyone has suggested in any of our lifetimes. But don't worry, Big Chief Lizzie will still get rich off of campaign contributions from the big banks and publicly-trade companies who will be the few beneficiaries of this nation-destroying idea.
Elizabeth Warren@SenWarren

Today, I'm introducing my wealth tax — and more than 50 members of Congress are joining me. It’s time for the government to start working for American families, not just the ultra-rich.

@Vault256Hash @PeterSchiff Man it's so funny to see these types of delusional posts about BTC and USD. Claiming Bitcoin is an inflation hedge is absurd after it lost 64% in 2022 during the inflation spike. The big gains are done forever in BTC - get out sooner rather than later

Bitcoin first hit $69K in Nov. 2021. Today, four years and four months later, Bitcoin is below $67K. This is by far the longest time period in Bitcoin's short history where the price of Bitcoin was below a prior high. It also happened despite record hype and so-called adoption.

We don't need a Wealth Tax, we need a 100% tax on all wealth above a certain amount. Lets say $100m, that's more than enough. We need to outlaw outrageous wealth, not just try reduce it a bit. Billionaires are a danger to everything and everyone. As you can clearly see.

@jimiuorio I’m fine with smaller gov’t, etc etc but it doesn’t matter the size of the system - wealthiest will always be the hardest taxed. I know it’s so hard being a millionaire or billionaire - taxes make their quality of life so bad… wait… that’s never been the argument. Just whining.

A 2% annual tax on that wealth would cover all of what we currently spend on Medicare without anyone else paying a dime. And that wealth would still continue to grow. We can't afford not to tax them at this point.
More Perfect Union@MorePerfectUS

The top 1% now has $53 trillion in wealth, while the bottom 50% holds less than $5 trillion. How do we close the gap? Actually tax the rich. This is how states are pushing for equitable taxes–and relief for the working class. Thread:
