Three days of chag and Shabbat are the best, and having the Seder two nights in a row is way more enjoyable and less stressful than having it just once.

@jewishmemequeen I in fact propose that we keep 2 day yom tiv even after Meshiach comes, zecher legulos.

Ok, so why are we still doing 2 days of Chag in the diaspora?? We know when the holidays start and end. Passover should be 7 days with 1 Seder. How do we fix this?

Special place in hell for Jews who hate other Jews so much they’d go on an antisemite’s platform to claim that war in Iran is “religious.” Fact: Burg lost a leadership election 25 years ago and joined the Arab Communist party in Israel to try and stay relevant. Google it.

Nobody actually likes sauerkraut. If you grew up eating it & developed some sort of Stockholm syndrome complex, you have my full sympathy & I withhold all judgment. But there is no way a grown adult tries sauerkraut for the first time & says "yum... more please"

HOT TAKE: Misnagdim are better at fighting sitra achra than chassidim. CHOSID: To keep away demons I cover the water and onions at night, never block a window, wear three amulets and sleep in socks. MISNAGGID: I’ve never done any of those things and still no demons.

Iran has a right to exist. Also, they warned they would strike which I have been reliably informed makes them the most moral army in the world. Lastly, the children harmed were used as human shields. Did I miss anything?
Israel Foreign Ministry@IsraelMFA

The Iranian regime devastated Arad and Dimona by deliberately striking civilians with missiles. Over 100 people were injured, including children. A blatant war crime. Pure terrorism.

This man is calling me a Nazi because I am secular and write about Judaism. Judaism does not belong to religious Jews and is as much ours as theirs (that is if we even accept Chabad as Judaism, which is debatable)

I’m a very calm person in real life and stay away from conflict, but watch me at 8 AM when I’m in a rush and a car with a New Jersey license plate slows me down in Brooklyn, New York. My God, the animal inside me comes out. I don’t know what to call it, but in that moment, I’m like, “Go back to New Jersey.” Am I a New York supremacist? Or is New Jersey just that bad?

@DarthVizer @shevereshtus Yet, in certain matters, Torah puts the relationship with a teacher above the relationship with a parent. To the extent that students are called children!

Parents are not villains, or heroes. They are, however, the biggest source of influence on their children up to their teenage years, and often beyond. An average, whenever you see a child who has a certain issue, there's almost always a clear line straight to their home where a (or both) parent(s) has the same issue, in one form or another. Same with positive traits, too. The longer you stay at home, the more your family imprints on you. When students are away from the home environment, they have a better chance of changing themselves for the better and molding themselves in who they want to be, versus where they feel comfortable. I remember reading about a school founded on the SEED model kept African-American students from rough backgrounds for a couple of months at a time on campus without going back home to visit their families. Almost all of the students showed real growth and improvement when they were there, but as soon as it was their weekend home, a lot of them would come back as if the slate had been wiped clean, and it would take weeks for them to get back on track, until the next trip home, where once again behavior would be reset, and the cycle just went on and on like that. Lehavdil I've seen it in yeshiva where you have some students who show some real growth, but then it's winter break or some such, and they come back and it feels like they've taken four steps back compared to where they held before they left, due to going back to their home environment. Even kids who come from great families who are already behaving very well can benefit from being in a place where their growth will be less inhibited by the constraints of being around family and falling into comfortable and familiar habits, even though that very same environment is what gave them a real leg up in the first place, and has built incredibly strong foundations for the future.

Oh man, Ian, dude, I talk constantly about America. Americans literally pay me to fly over there to talk to them about America. Like, constantly. I talk about my love for America, and how empty-headed nitwits like you who see a Jew around every corner want to weaken America. And they listen to me. Because you represent only a tiny, tiny part of that big, beautiful, liberating gift that is America. How does all that make you feel? And on a different but related topic: You assholes come at my people and my country every damn day. Including in Joe’s pathetic letter. Because you’re losers. So go fuck yourself. (I don’t usually do high-school contests with racist garbage like Ian — sorry, with effeminate racist garbage like Ian. Am I doing this right?)
