@Kellie_moons RS3 is designed with item sink features. It prevents items from saturating the economy and becoming pennies. If its your first time playing its highly recommended to make stuff as you go, and not involve yourself with the economy as much.

@HuseTheMoose Its a mouth in the wall that you'd stick your hand into once a day for rewards. You need a lot of requirements for it. Monday's update permanently disabled this, though.

@GnomeMedia @JagexBreezy Appreciate you 😌 Tbh it’s often goes silent and thankless, but this one I’m proud to say I’ve been hassling them over since the literal ninja strike days. I pity the poor soul who had to read my horrible essays back then…

I'm gathering suggestions for new teleport spells with 110 Runecrafting. Are there any locations in the game that could use a handy new teleport spell? No specific criteria, ideally places that don't already have a teleport in close proximity, or difficult to get to.

World events are some of the most cool things a MMO can do, but a combination of 1) the compressed exp component and 2) hourly frequency was what made it so fomo and bad. I believe world events can be revived in the future if they had an activation trigger and was limited to exclusive item rewards such as pets and cosmetics. FFXIV and OG SWTOR both did this well. I might write up on this some day.

@JagexBreezy You should make fast lodestone teleports require law runes instead of vis wax. Purely to make RuneScape be RuneScape. I never liked how vis wax came along one day and became a teleport currency. Its still weird. I wanted to suggest this forever ago but now's the best time :)

@TheoryWiseOS The fact that they cater to the mob rule of reddit is infuriating. But it worries me more that they do not recognize the mechanism of reddit's voting system. People who upvote stuff are anonymous and consequently selfish.

Runescape 3 just removed most of their dailies (huge W). HOWEVER, they decided to keep their shitty daily dopamine challenges because a bunch of RS3 players were upset over their upcoming removal. Very disappointing, but maybe expected.

@WazzyRS That's what I'm saying! They completely forgot the reason why they were doing this all in the first place, because they hyperfixated on combating fomo instead. Compressed exp that displaces any need to train the actual skill is the daily that needed to die the most!

@JagexBreezy I feel like you guys don't understand the reason we asked for certain dailies/hourlies/timegates to be removed on that survey. Each one had nuance for why its good or bad for the game health. It seems you ignored every detailed and often unspoke nuance in favor of a blanket campaign against arbitrary fomo. This is a brutal dismissal of the valid ones that did not need to be removed at all. The following is detailed breakdown of each one based on my experience and knowledge of the game. None of this is directed at you directly. Please take no offence to it. Daily challenges: Bad BECAUSE it gives like 200k exp for 5 mins of work. People end up using it exclusively on the slowest skills, which effectively means 1) its the BIS method for that slow skill and 2) they will do it exclusively to 120/200m. The weekly track (as stated in your newspost) is NOT the reason people were hooked on the daily challenge fomo. Its the exp efficiency that was the hook, and the reason challenges need to be removed with no compromise. Guthix caches: Yeah acceptable and interesting. Reaper tasks: No comment. Travel merch (TM): Why? Some of the stock should be removed, yes. Particularly if TM becomes the exclusive source of the thing in question. But the unpredictability and "irregularity forces you to drop everything you're doing and hurry over"? This is a lie. TM is around for 10 whole mins which is very generous. It gives people plenty of time to make a decision and go or skip it and wait for the next call. TM has a consistent FC community with scouts. This is the type of voluntary community that is invaluable, and you should expect the game to start MUCH LESS of these voluntary communities as everyone pushes into their mid 30s and has less time to make it work from zero. Nuking TM outright spells as insane to me on this principle alone. You mis weigh the value of dailyscape like this that forms long standing communities in general. Wicked hood dailies: Yeah, sure. But don't forget all the other daily teleports like rock golem fit and sentinel. Vis wax: Yes, thank you! I have been giving feedback on this for several years and I appreciate everything you stated about it. Daily shop: Interesting. Mazcab raid: Fomo is the lesser evil of the other option which is worse. Do you understand why raid timegates exist in every MMO? Its 1) to minimize the amount of cliquing up people will do - as a way to preserve the social aspect of MMOs, and 2) to prevent people from being "done" too quickly - and consequently deprive the first-timers and those with low KC from finding people to do it with. BECAUSE the timegate exists, people make the effort to turn up in FCs to find a pick-up group. If a person is new or low KC, there's still a decent chance to hitch a ride and be taught on the go. This is possible because the critical mass of players who still need to get their raid done for the day (or every 2nd day) always exists. Its kinda a supply and demand mechanic that every MMO dev understands. With today's update you have over-supplied, so people who want their pet/log done (most people) will grind it out in a few weeks and the pool of players who need to do raids will be less. The critical mass will be gone, basically. Previously, new people could quickchat <5 KC and still find a willing host in a sea of 100+ KC people because "host & crew still needs to do their daily raid and they don't mind picking up someone less experienced". But now? You can make grinding parties. Which means hosts are looking exclusively for experienced people who can DPS race. This is very well understood in other MMOs and the reason they daily or weekly timegate most endgame bosses for the latest expansion. Oh, and you should not expect most new people to own or create a discord just to find learner/"low KC outcast party". They won't. Hot majority of gamers/RS players do not own a discord or do not desire to use it (but a FC was fine). If you don't believe me, keep a close eye on your internal raid attendance data from now on. Phoenix lair: No comment. Seren posts: Understandable. The daily cap on this felt meaningless. Crystal tree blossom: Good. Red/crys sandstone: Why? Broadly I think most non exp resource timegates are good for the game. It rewards being punctual, and the people who engage in it tend manage time well. They enjoy doing them even if they don't need the money, and they supply the economy voluntarily. Most importantly, its not OP enough to nerf - the output is cheap and doesn't hold a candle to valid moneymaking methods. The only reason argument to remove this comes from irons (valid) and people who have a blanket vendetta of all things subjectively "fomo" (weird). People who don't do it previous will never do it since they already use the GE, so caving into their demands is bad reason. As a bonus, resource timegates make the game feel alive. Its conceptually cool and accepted in pretty much any RPG out there. There was no need to change this at all. I suspect the only reason people has such visceral reactions on the surveys is because TH was the kingpin of all fomos. People had compounded interested against it and used fomo as a catchphrase. Fomo is not a trigger word. Not all fomo is bad fomo, and you as game devs should not listen to people who blanketly throw around that word to make it seem a bad thing. They make the game less interesting to play. Fish flingers: Understandable, but as a trim comp I think the biggest issue was that its a trim requirement to begin with. The activity is actually pleasant and has a cool learning curve that I acquired respect for. The grind requirement is what made it unfun. Shooting stars: Understandable. I think it was handled well. Tokkul: People did this?! Bork: Might as well be a reaper boss now. Aquarium stuff: So you're fine with weeklies as long as its presented as a compromise? Interesting. (I think weekly is a valid timegate & helps make the game feel alive). Slime pit TP: Sure. Evil tree D&D: Does it have incentive for people to do it at all? (Just curious). Sinkholes: This fundamentally violates the integrity of dungeoneering and it has to go. Dungeoneering levels should be an indicator of how much you have played DG, and was a reasonable indicator for how reliable people were to invite (but not foolproof). Sinkholes, ED runs, TH & lamps ruined this and killed w77. This is my feedback for DG in general. Wildy flash: Hourly fomo is the truest definition of fomo, not to mention being the most efficient exp/h relative to time attended. I am glad it is gone. Warbands: Why? 7 hours is plenty of time and doesn't disrupt ordinary gameplay. People can schedule around a 7 hour window. This type of consensual opt-in risk vs reward has potential. Simply, you need to make let people be capable of fending for themselves, aka be fully equipped and capable of fighting so they can "earn" the right to be there (or make friends to co-survive). 1) Change all wildy deaths to an ordinary death's office death (no items are lost & killer gets nothing) and 2) make wildy be open world PvP (you opt in when you jump the ditch). This way, people can suit up comfortably and practice their way up to survive. This is how to revive the wilderness. Wilderness is not a glorified slayer dungeon (as it is now). It is a no-bullshit zone. You consent to dying if you jump over the wall. Let player traffic and the individual's willingness to survive take care of the rest. That's integrity (for the wilderness) in the purest form. Don't let anyone tell you different. Motherload maw: Enhancers removed? Sure. But it also has other interesting resources that can take its place. If you dislike the daily aspect so much then there was zero harm in turning it into a weekly resource dispenser - like you did with the aquarium. Divine locations: Understandable. This is the type of high concentrate exp nonsense that has to go. Modified headwear: Understandable. Raids (Again): With all this being said, why not compress this into a 20/week cap? You were willing to make aquarium a weekly because the daily felt too much. And for reasons stated above, raids needs a constant traffic of players or the player pool will diminish or clique up, and present consequences. I would strongly recommend this. Sorry for the longpost. I hope this feedback reaches the right people. I strongly believe all the above timegates to be a detailed topic and something I couldn't comment on until the update was released. If I were a dev with integrity in the forefront (and good vibes) then these are the things I would do. Strongly consider!

Yo, @RuneScape it seems like having prem club cancelled my 1 month sub so I lost my grandfathered rates even though I've had a continuous sub. That HAS to be an oversight, you cannot punish those that bought your top tier subscription. Can we get clarification on this?

We’re basically a lego human. When we equip something in the torso slot we’re actually replacing our entire torso. If that torso piece has human skin then that skin is actually part of the torso equipment. What devs mean by grafting is removing the human skin from every lego item. Henceforth when we equip anything it will be worn directly over our player model for real. At least, that’s how I interpreted it.

@DatShokotan is it though? all it says is hair, heads, beards, clothes and skin where not covered with clothes? So is it just same avatar reskinned with new head? They do show a before and after of the body and explain how they need to seperate armour from torso but don't state it's ready.

@RuneScape I'm excited and worried. You guys have been so quiet through this all. Means you're hard committing to something that can't be changed easy if people dislike something. I just hope the chatheads and female models turn up alright. That's where the money is at.
