I love selling domains but sellers let’s understand something. Outbound only works when your domain has a clear path of potential buyers. If the name obviously belongs to fintech, dental, logistics, whatever, we know exactly who to call and how to frame the value. A random misspelled word with no obvious meaning or buyer, there’s nobody to pitch. Clients looking for specific domains of course but that’s not the outbound brokers do. Not every name is outbound material.

Green[.]com domain name changed hands for $7.5 million freespeech.com/2026/05/09/gre… First reported by George Kirikos @GeorgeKirikos on May 9, 2026 on my FreeSpeech[.]com blog. If you see it elsewhere, it's probably a parasitic copycat blogger looking for attention.

Interesting idea. All domains are $99. Seller keeps $90. I bought a couple domains. There have already been 50+ sales in a short period of time, so there is some proof of concept. 25 free listings. It's worth checking out. NotRenewing.com

The toughest type of domains to evaluate are "decent" ones. Great domains and bad domains are normally pretty obvious. The "decent" domains make up a large amount of end user sales, especially in the X,XXX range. A good eye for domains comes with experience.

Security is kind of pointless if the domain can just be transferred internally by GoDaddy, in error. You could have two-factor, DTVS, etc. It doesn't really matter. @GoDaddy needs to address this. As a registrar, there is nothing more important than domain security.

Last week GoDaddy moved a 27-year-old domain from my friend's account to a stranger who never submitted a single document. They used an email signature to identify the parent domain and just transferred it. Here's the full story: anchor.host/godaddy-gave-a…

@Aladey The quality really matters. There are only so many investment grade domains. No service is going to be outbounding marginal domains for a possible cut of a $XXX sale. You also need domains that have clear potential end users. So, it only works for certain types of domains.

@datacubecom In real estate some properties are actively marketed, domains should work the same way. Outbound isn’t the problem, i know professional brokers rely on it every day. The key is doing it right: structured, targeted, and respectful. I also agree not every domain needs outbound…

Why don’t platforms like Atom do outbound, especially now that AI makes it easier than ever?

@Aladey Domains are one of a kind assets with subjective value. It's not like selling normal products. There is nothing stopping someone from offering the service, if they see it as a viable business model.

@datacubecom Think about it, we’re the only industry among millions that ignores outbound. Why? It can be done with rules...

@PopDomains_x The actual timeline is probably much longer, especially for extensions that have competition. Some of the extensions from last round took many years to launch. Some, like .web are still not live.

Update: It's been 3+ years now. I just sold the domain for $15,000 to the same end user. They tried to trademark the obviously generic term. It was refused. All this nonsense could have been avoided by just paying a fair price to begin with.

How you don't attempt to buy a domain...🤦‍♂️ Offer $11,000, then when I counter you make baseless legal threats and offer $5,000. This is a generic term, no registered TM. Domain registered for 20+ years. Classic "Plan B" attempt. Redacted info - for now.

Man the US healthcare system sucks to navigate. Basic physical therapy appointment. Billed $600 with insurance, when the cash price is $120 without insurance. Provider says they are in-network. Insurance says they are out-of-network. What a scam.

The team at @namedotcom has decided to protect the attacker's privacy instead of their own customer, and are refusing to provide information about the spoof email. Kind of an interesting decision which side to protect. domainnamewire.com/2026/04/06/nam…

UDRP as an abuse vector... The registrar locked a two-letter .com for two weeks because they don't understand the normal UDRP contacts or timeline:

@katerleonid Probably because there aren't any. Seven figure sales are extremely rare, even in .com. NameBio shows 186 total sales over $1m. 180 of those are .com.
