These functions are part of what makes GotSOL unique. But before explaining them, it is important to understand the difference between Merchant and Owner.
Interestingly, these two terms describe the same person. They are simply used to explain the different roles involved in how money is received and how it is controlled inside the app.
The GotSOL app uses a two-wallet structure that separates business operations from fund control.
The business side - Merchant
The Merchant side is used to handle daily business activities, such as:
▫️ Accepting payments from customers by generating QR codes for in-person payments or sending payment links to online customers
▫️ Managing products and inventory
▫️ Book keeping — recording your sales and transactions so you can track how your business is doing
Once a payment occurs, the money (USDC/USDT) sits in the Merchant wallet.
The control side - Owner
While the money is being received on the Merchant side, it is the Owner who decides what happens to that money.
This decision might be:
▫️ Moving the money out of the Merchant wallet and sending it to an external wallet, which can then be exported to Solana-compatible wallets
▫️ Leaving the money in the Merchant wallet
This separation is important because it reflects how business revenue and fund control are properly separated and accounted for.
Simply put:
Merchant is the counter where money is collected.
Owner is the bank where the money is controlled.
