So I ’ve noticed that whenever my friend comes over and serves food from my pot, I can no longer eat it and I end up throwing the food away. The first time, she visited, we ate semo and egusi, and she wanted more. I told her to serve herself, which she did. That night, I wanted to warm the egusi and noticed it had started foaming. I warmed it anyway, thinking it was due to the hot weather. The next day it turned sour, I had to pour it away. The second time, we cooked village rice together. She dished the food, and by night it had become slimy. I thought it was the locust beans we added, but even after warming it wasn’t edible, so I threw it away. That day, she mentioned she was happy I allowed her cook with me because her mum doesn’t allow her to cook or dish food at home, only noodles that finishes immediately. Last Saturday, I cooked beans and she visited. She dished the beans, and before night it started foaming. I calmly pointed it out, but she felt offended. Maybe I’m overthinking it, but why does my food go bad anytime she serves it? Could that be why her mum doesn’t let her cook at home too?

This is so crass. Honestly, this is the kind of thing people should actually be fixating on tonight and asking real questions about. Is that real bread? Is it dummy bread? Because even if it turns out to be fake, the visual alone is still deeply tone deaf. Bread is one of the most basic food staples. In a country where people are constantly talking about food inflation, hunger and poverty, a designer and a client sat down, brainstormed this concept, executed it and photographed it. The image screams excess and waste, and this idea shouldn’t be seen anywhere near high fashion artistry.

When the Ghanaian President made that unpalatable remark about Ghana being “a small country that doesn’t want to get flooded with Nigerians,” what exactly did y’all expect?! Never mind that there are more Ghanaians living in Nigeria than Nigerians living in Ghana. Last I checked there are hundreds of thousands of de-facto Naturalized Ghanaian, togolese, Beninese, Chadians & Nigeriens that fully claim to be “Nigerians” now and no one is making their lives miserable, no one even cares or notices! Even when Cyril Ramaphosa gave a press conference yesterday to address the xenophobic attacks that have already killed 2 Nigerians, he chose to pander instead of issuing a clear reprimand. That was a tacit endorsement, not leadership. Don’t be shocked when Kenyans start their own version. Their president already made a distasteful joke about Nigerians. We’ll soon find out how much of a “joke” it really was. My advice to Nigerian migrants: Travel anywhere you want to LEGALLY it is your right as a human being but please, let it be to places that are “actually” better than Nigeria. Don’t risk your life and dignity for countries whose two major cities and infrastructure can barely compete with tier-2 Nigerian cities like Owerri, Kaduna or Uyo.

@Xtopherewesi MFM was the only church then that had a football club they sponsored. They were doing very well playing against other Nigeria clubs but I don't know if they are still in operation

He primarily focused on the Junior category, and sponsored the National Junior trials for many years. When he withdrew from sponsoring these trials, the AFN struggled to hold the trials on their own without his financial backing. In fact, MFM was heavily involved in funding sports in Nigeria. A lot of Nigeria's great sports people owe a lot to Olukoya and his church. This is why, after many of Odunayo Adekuoroye's wrestling conquests, she would spend some time to thank Dr Olukoya. In fact, Adekuoroye even had a dedicated Nigerian flag with the MFM emblem to celebrate with after winning a medal for the country. Dr Olukoya and TB Joshua really pumped a lot of money into Nigerian sports.
