Having a fun time at a beautiful wedding in downtown San Francisco. So pleasantly surprised that I barely ran across one homeless person, when previously there were dozens on every block camped out in tents and shooting up on street corners. Key factors include expanded shelter capacity, increased housing, and active, targeted encampment outreach.  There’s hope after all!

Had a terrific time at the @PAFFNOW with renowned Haitian-American film director Raynald Leconte at the premiere of his deeply introspective historical saga “Amazing Grace: YorubaWorlds”. Co-produced by legendary Nigerian filmmaker Tunde Kelani and anchored by Wole Soyinka, the first Black Nobel Laureate in Literature, YorubaWorlds offers a 360-degree immersive dive into the Yoruba diaspora across Africa, the Americas, and Europe. It chronicles the survival of Yoruba spiritual traditions, music, and philosophy over thousands of years, despite the history of colonization and the transatlantic slave trade.

Attending the wedding of the son of my dear friend and long-term client, Dr. Bankole Osuntokun, was a fun experience. Nigerian weddings are something to behold. Choke full of historical culture and tradition, they feature colorful clothing, great music, beautiful dancing and tons of spraying (aka making it rain!). Congratulations to the beautiful new couple.

It was a pleasure spending time recently with Congressman @BobbyScott4VA3 from Virginia, the ranking member of the Education & Labor Committee, discussing the inequities  in our nation’s higher education funding system and its disproportionate impact on lower income Americans.

It was a privilege to join @NYCMayor and other member mayors and business council members at the inaugural @OurMayors technology and public safety summit in NYC.
