An update on the account. I sadly lost my wonderful mum suddenly on the 25th July last year. I have cared for my 96 year old dad since that time. On Wednesday morning he passed away peacefully surrounded by love.
The man who gave me my love of railways, good night, dad.
@MaryRoseMuseum I was in High School, and we watched it on tv. Everyone gasped when cradle seemed to slip. I've visited since a couple of times. Still find it amazing you've achieved what you have with her
The Mary Rose was raised in October 1982, that’s nearly 44 years ago.
Feeling old? Sorry about that, but please share your memories about it with us using #WhereWereYouIn82
Another cracking service from @CrossCountryUK This is 1st Class at Birmingham New Street on your IV62 1205 Edinburgh to Plymouth service. A 5 car Super Voyager at peak time through Britain's second city. What a calm and relaxing atmosphere, I'm glad I paid extra to sit in here
Back in the UK after working away for 3 weeks. Travelled 9,700 miles to get here and guess where the only non-step free access part of the journey was? Bristol Parkway station 5 miles from where I live. All 3 lifts are still out and a 26kg suitcase! @GWRHelp Why? #nonaccessible
@GWRHelp Thank you. Just a small point, is that this relies on people reading this on your website. I bought my tickets at a station. It might be an idea to get train managers to mention it before you get to Swindon and BPW. There was nothing on my train last Thursday 0948 from PAD
I am sorry to hear that, and I will certainly pass this feedback onto the team for review. These works are part of planned maintenance to the lifts by Network Rail, which has taken place since Monday 26th January. More information on this can be found at gwr.com/travel-informa… - Rose
@GWRHelp Thanks for your reply. They were available once I'd struggled up to the footbridge level. No-one on Platform 2. Passers by offered though. This was the third occasion the lift on Platform 1/2 was out of use in the last 5 months
Good morning Dave, thank you for getting in touch. The lifts at Bristol Parkway will be closed for essential upgrade work until Wednesday 18th March, to improve their reliability. Please speak with staff at the station, who will be happy to offer assistance with any luggage - Rose
There's something seriously wrong with @F1 when last years World Champion and his team aren't able to show up on the grid. Plus another 2 non-starters. The teams, tracks and fans deserve better #ChineseGP
Seeing how I reactivated the dormant blog at the weekend, would you like to see a return to more regular posting?
Here’s something looking back at the early stages of the Minffordd project and how we set about making this complex little layout.

@GWRHelp you're not exactly shining tonight. Firstly all lifts out at BPW. Then 1827 to PAD announced as reverse formation (it wasn't) then after making it back to Zone 1 I get told my luggage can't be stowed in my carriage (L) it has to go in a rack in Coach K. Really!!!
If only one of them would just once leave the boardroom with a robust “feck you Lord Sugar” instead of all that thank you for the opportunity bollox #TheApprentice
@Tarka_Man Sadly surprisingly common. I'm always disappointed when one of these rocks up to take me to London. Interesting comments about similar units being from King's Cross. I would say you probably know what you're getting on that route rather than this, where IETs are the norm.
