Travelling to Mexico Tuesday but no luggage from last flight, no help from Porter Airlines and no suggestions from them on how to move forward. Too bad, so sad seems to be their motto and no responsibility.
#porterairlines lost my luggage last night on flight pd407 Toronto to Edmonton. 2 sympathetic agents and 1 horrible agent who told me they didn’t lose it, the handlers did. Insult to injury they started a claim and didn’t note the reference number so no ability to move forward.
In honour of World Teachers Day I wanted to take a moment to thank all who help pave the way for the next generations. We entrust our loved ones to you and appreciate your calling. It might not always seem like it sometimes but you make a difference each and every day.
@ErinStevensonSG@elect_oldham Erin and Dave your commitment to engaging your constituency is admirable and nothing new. We are blessed to have you and if your campaigning manages to influence the national statistics on daily exercise then all the better!
@ErinStevensonSG Scared of the virus or scared of government over-reach at the end of the day scared is scared and people are people. I suspect that many leave a charged interaction only to feel a little silly afterwards for misdirecting their angst. Keep going Erin…you are doing great.
@ErinStevensonSG Erin you and council have done an admirable job under the most trying of circumstances. I know that you end up in the receiving end of constituent frustration and it’s hard to see many as scared when they are in your face.

@citysprucegrove Sometimes doing the right thing for one another is inconvenient or less than comfortable but doing what we can to stem transmission of a potential killer like Covid is simply a small duty for being a part of our community and an expected cost of admission.
@snapthennap@ErinStevensonSG@mayorblaine@GPRChamber I personally have offered disposable masks to local shoppers who were not sporting their own only to end up on the receiving end of an expletive laced verbal tirade. I can manage it but how about my staff or that summer student reduced to tears for trying to do what’s right?
@ErinStevensonSG@mayorblaine@GPRChamber@DaveGrobman I saw a hell of a scene the other day for that very reason. A young women trying to enforce a store mask policy against 5 belligerent middle age men...I was scared for her. I walked in with my mask & she was so thankful. I made sure I said loud enough..no problem, I'm not a baby.
When I receive an email from someone who isn’t in favour of a mask bylaw, the reasoning is often it impedes on their rights under the charter of rights and freedoms. I’ve read the charter and it appears nothing there supports this. Do you agree? Am I missing the basic argument?
@snapthennap@mayorblaine And for consistency, I know many local businessese have reached out asking for a bylaw, rather than store by store. It lessens confrontation and keeps their staff safe. I know our local chamber @GPRChamber is polling. Have you heard the same, @DaveGrobman ?
@ErinStevensonSG@snapthennap@mayorblaine@GPRChamber My store is masked up and we urge our customers to do the same. Having said that we need an official mandate to reduce confrontations. Personally I feel that it is a Provincial matter but if the decisions are being left to individual Municipalities then we need a bylaw locally.
@ErinStevensonSG You are quite right Erin and even if it did impede on some never considered right is it not our civic responsibility to work to protect each other and not just ourselves?
@elonmusk I am wondering what advice you might have for a passionate scholar of 16 who is struggling mightily with the whole reality of pandemic nessecitated self-study for his grade 11 advanced physics course.
@ErinStevensonSG You can please some of the people all of the time......a principled politician concerned with doing right by their constituency should be concerned with doing the best they can for the majority rather than working to please everyone and thereby compromising the whole. Good on ya!
As an elected official, I will make decisions that my residents disagree with. If they choose to demonstrate & express their disagreement with my decision, I absolutely support their right to do so. If there was never disagreement, I'd be worried that I'm not doing my job. #ableg
