@aleem_ahamed @Fdr1942 @carlquintanilla They were categorized as HTM (Hold To Maturity) which means that they have "promised" (in an accounting and regulatory sense) to hold the bonds for their full duration. If they sold any then they would have been required to recognize the losses for everything they held

JPMORGAN: SVB “was in a league of its own,” with an “unusually high reliance on corporate/VC funding .. and very low reliance on stickier retail deposits .. Bottom line: $SIVB carved out a distinct and riskier niche .. setting itself up for large potential capital shortfalls ..”

"U.S. consumers cut spending by the most on record for the second straight month in April while boosting savings to an all-time high." What if saving instead of spending becomes a HABIT, like it was for the Great Depression generation? reuters.com/article/us-usa…

Censorship is fun. Next let’s burn books! Seriously, I wonder at the desire to surpress new works of art. That’s what any translation is, after all, whether of Shakespeare or Chekhov. The original remains untouched and undamaged. Why can’t we have both old and new?

#DeepSpringsCollege goes co-ed this week! After 101 years. This will probably not get a single RT, because no one at DS is on Twitter (well, maybe @DaveHitz) but still. It's an enormous step for an astounding institution, and I'm really excited to see what happens next!
