@StephenWensley @TheEVuniverse Yes I think Osaka would be great. Kobe also is a great city with a large international community and support system for them. I would choose that over Osaka maybe. Smaller city and less hectic. Nishinomiya right between Osaka and Kobe was voted the best place to live one year.

@TheEVuniverse @DaveInOsaka do you have any suggestions for Jaan on which parts of Japan are easier for a foreign family to integrate into for a year? Osaka is particularly friendly & international isn’t it? I found Tokyo quite overwhelming

Literally thinking of moving to Japan for months (or a year?) with my family (three small ones). The safety is one huge win we've considered. Anyone local here who can tell me if it's a good idea and which areas to go for?

Not even close. Yes people are a bit rowdy and spirits are up but I’ve never felt threatened. And earlier in the evening there are a lot of families, too.
