@AnnHacke @angiesliverpool You're welcome, Ann. I had the information at hand as I'm working on another book — this time, a history of the milk supply of Liverpool.

@AnnHacke @angiesliverpool 1904 —moved down south, to farm in Enfield, in Waltham Cross and then in Peterborough. 1913 — emigrated to Australia. 1921 —returned to England. 1922 — bought premises at 365 Edge Lane. 1925 — ceased keeping cows. This was the beginning of James Hanson & Sons Ltd.

@DaveJoy58 @angiesliverpool Hi. Just came across this tweet. Do you know where James was living when cowkeeper ie before Long Lane period, or his approx age in 1902? I’m struggling with working out the right Hanson for research I’m doing on my nephew’s family tree. Any source ideas would be fantastic.

@angiesliverpool OMG! I was at that concert. They'd just released their Mother's Pride album. (Really fancied the drummer, Alice DeBurgh, was her name I think — it was a teenage thing!).

@franzitzka @angiesliverpool My wife painted that sign! It was her family's business. They also had a shop in Aigburth (near the post office) and one in Hunts Cross (Woodend Avenue). All long gone now.
