@rhuttenhain Our Labconco with light gun has been great. It has been used daily for 8 years without issue.

#TeamMassSpec What is your favorite speedvac? I would like to purchase one for my new lab and would love to get recommendations.

@UCDProteomics For sure. It was a great experience and very rewarding. I was fortunate enough to have a great PI that ensured the students were successful and had projects that they were interesting to the student.

Would you recommend to your college age kids majoring in the biological sciences go to grad school these days? I’m still glad I did it and still would recommend it. Thoughts ?

@rhuttenhain @AaronStorey4 The Evosep coupled to the Pro2 has been a great combination. The Evosep has been very robust and I’m sure we are trading some sensitivity for uptime and throughput. I was also initially concerned with the versatility but that hasn’t been an issue with bottom up workflows.

Would love to hear from #TeamMassSpec which LC you would choose to couple to a TimsTOF HT? I was considering to purchase the Vanquish Neo, but the issue is that it cannot be controlled directly through the TimsTof software and therefore needs a contact closure and a separate PC.

@UCDProteomics I agree! This has been a very nice reliable workflow for our core also. Crazy depth typically doesn’t translate to a robust/high throughput workflow. Yet!

I find the S-trap-Evosep-DIA-Spectronaut workflow a magical combination for a core facility. You may not get the crazy depth but man you can generate prelim data super fast, relatively cheap & have decent stats & pretty figures for the biologists!

@jgeddes @unevadareno Mick is one of the finest individuals I have had the pleasure of meeting. Thank you Mick for your continued support of research in Nevada!

@astacus They seem to help or its just my hearing getting worse! They also look nice on the wall but they are dust collectors.

It is very inspiring when the administrators support proteomic research! Our Fusion received a lab mate this week thanks to our VPR! #nevadaproteomics

@ProtifiLlc You know, I was just contemplating that. I wonder how hard it is to convert our Ultimate 3000?

Of our 4 systems 3 our down. 2 mass spec hardware issues and 1 LC hardware problem. I just don't see how labs can operate with 1 LCMS system. I wish people outside our field knew this. We make it look easy to keep everything working, but it's really anything but.
