After 28 years, just finished my last day as a staffer at Newcastle Chronicle. From Thomson House, to working remotely for the last three years, it's been a fun ride. Looking forward to taking the summer off 😎🍺⚽️🚴‍♀️🥁- then embracing a new challenge towards the end of the year.

@mhardysport Sad news. Always wrote well and with authority. A must-read back in the day. There was plenty of friendly rivalry between Gibbo & Ollie on the Chron and Brian - aka ‘the Beast’ - on the Sunday Sun. Remember them calling him ‘Beastie Boy’ whenever he came into our newsroom. RIP.

1/2 Extremely sad news from north east football today with the passing of Brian McNally. Brian was an absolute giant of north east sports journalism. He was at his peak at the Newcastle Journal and the Sunday Sun before moving to the Sunday Mirror and was essential reading…

Kai died this morning at 1.45am with his loving mam and devoted fiance by his side.We are absolutely devastated he is gone but his suffering is over. Your family, and life will never be the same without you Kai. If love could have saved you, you’d have lived a thousand years.

@DaveSMorton @NUFC I still believe theres a goalscorer deep inside him & this gives us the greatest chance of seeing it. He saw his dreams failing infront of him & battled like a lion to keep them alive. Don't think I've ever seen a turn around like his without changing clubs before.

Nephew is representing Newcastle United under-13s in the Mina Cup out in Dubai. The tournament features 40 clubs and academies from around the world, including Barcelona and Man City. Today #NUFC beat Empire FC of Antigua 2-0 & Desert Falcon FC of Dubai 6-0 (nephew scored⚽️⚽️)
