🧵A striking piece of natural history is just about to disappear in Chestnut Avenue off Newland Avenue. It’s possible this horse chestnut tree was planted around 170 years ago at the junction with De Grey St by the owner of this newly-built house with the quirky window.

#OTD in 1967 the newly built Sir Henry Cooper School on Orchard Park opened. It took its name from Hull-born doctor Henry Cooper, a surgeon and physician at the old Hull Royal Infirmary. We decided to put a face to name so here he is @hull_libraries @Hull_Museums
