We can’t let Royal Mail go the way of water companies, where bosses are rewarded with millions for causing chaos workers have to deal with. We need Royal Mail honouring its agreement with the CWU that sets out a positive vision for the company and treats workers better.

The whole union is shocked and saddened to hear of the passing of Richard Isdell. Richard represented the members at Sheffield Mail Centre for decades and he did so with skill, strength and ability. He was also an industrial engineer, one of the unions most vocal supporters online and more importantly a brilliant human being with a great sense of humour. Our thoughts are with Richard’s daughter Leonie and Grandson Isaac. RIP Richard.

Very sad news to hear that Des Carney passed away on Saturday. Des was one of the true characters in the history of our union, a rep who always stood up for our members and was never afraid to speak out for what he believed in - union through and through In his later life Des was also a great advocate for our retired members. A thoroughly decent man who was highly respected throughout the CWU. On behalf of the whole union we offer our sincere condolences to his family. RIP Des. You will always be part of the union.
