@Austen Aren’t technological growing pains like this expected? Look at video games for example: We started with horrible looking games, the infrastructure gets better (GPU’s), previous gen games get cheaper to run as GPU’s get better, those GPU’s get cheaper, rinse and repeat

To be fair to Anthropic/Claude: Can you even imagine how much scaling they have to do? They’re adding 1 million users/day at the same time as they’re releasing new features daily, and users can absolutely gobble compute. It’s a miracle these AI services are up at all.

@Gigabeef @nikgeneburn I remember when i still had 1080TI and put a 5800X3D in my rig and it doubled my fps on Streets so i imagine any CPU performance will contribute to higher frames on Streets!

@nava94_ Man, i love movement and movement shooters in general but in a game like this it’s just not it. Especially if it disadvantages other shells like Destroyer and Vandal who need to spend twice the heat for the same result

@Gladd It definitely looks good in some cases, but seems to be good only for specific games that already have a realistic graphics by design. I’m more worried by DLSS 5 impacting the design philosophy of a game by just throwing a hyperrealism filter on it

Looked at the DLSS 5 stuff. Am I missing something here, cause almost all of this looks great and better than the original. I’m convinced people are a bunch of virtue signaling sheep that hear the phrase “AI” and immediately jump on their high horse with phrases like “UGH AI SLOP!” A lot of it isn’t even slop. It looks great. And if you didn’t know something was AI and I told you it was an artist’s work, you’d love it. Don’t get me wrong, there is a lot of bad shit that comes from AI. Tons. But not everything that is associated with AI is bad and folks need to come to terms with this and stfu and stop pretending you’re better than it or everyone. AI is the future. It always has been. It will continue to be. And it’s gonna get stronger with its presence. This will happen whether you like it or not. So learn to work “with” it and not just blindly dismiss it.
