@van00sa I think this is true. Larry David would agree. The bald community has been shunned for far too long. It’s nice to finally get some recognition.

@Davemconte @askaya 🤣🤣🤣 that’s hysterical! I mean, you can get a pretty damn good woman. I’m not gonna lie, most of them are. You just gotta find one that their flaws are “easier” to deal with.

@j0ximoto @askaya My wife was a saint when I met her. I was jumping up and down and saying to myself, “This is too good to be true!” Then we moved in together and I got to meet the real her 🤣.

@Davemconte @askaya I don’t know, I’ve seen a lot of that to be honest. It is pretty rare, but I must just be lucky to observe more of it than most people.

@j0ximoto @askaya That’s a myth. They all turn controlling and combative 20 years in. Only 2% of women do not. 😀

@Davemconte @askaya I just don’t get it, man! All of the good, understanding ones are already snatched up and have been since they were like 16 to their high school sweethearts

@Davemconte @askaya Never been married, but when I have done this tactic in my serious relationships, they start to get combative. Most of the time, if not every time for me, that’s when the relationship starts to dive, and then I am eventually left because I’m “controlling“

My friend Dave’s new audiobook for anyone interested. He has a funny story in there about writing a letter to author David Sedaris and his snarky reply via postcard audible.com/pd/Tales-of-an…

Surprising Turns-On (And Why) Sexual sensitivity isn’t just about the “obvious” spots — it’s about connection. When someone pays attention to your body in unexpected ways, your nervous system lights up because you feel noticed, explored, and desired. Pleasure isn’t just anatomy — it’s attention and curiosity. And that’s often what people respond to most.

@NicoleBehnam People block too easily. I was friends with someone for 9 months on this app, DMing back and forth. They didn’t like that I let someone borrow money, judged me for it, then blocked me. So bizarre. The default response today seems to be “when in doubt, block”

congratulations on blocking someone who loved you because a chatbot convinced you that you were very eloquent and communicative in the two screenshots of the text thread you sent. very evolved.

My brother, who is my elder by three years, told me a couple of months ago in an email that he and I have nothing in common and that I just “spend my time online all day.” We used to be fairly close and would hang out together with our spouses before I became ill in 2015. So for 11 years, he’s largely been absent from my life. I think this provides a lot of insight into why #pwME get rejected so often by friends and family members. My brother isn’t a mean guy, he just doesn’t understand this illness—and even if he did, I don’t doubt he’d feel the same way regardless. Once you’re not participating in the game of life—you’re on the sidelines for years, decades—your world becomes very small. The truth is that people who have normal lives don’t know what to say to us, what to talk about, how to treat us. All they know is that we’ve been chronically unwell for years and nothing has changed. Also, as humans, we usually give people who are sick the privacy and alone time they need to deal with their sickness. But ME/CFS is different because the sickness just goes on for years and years and years and we really crave connection with the people who once thought we were great, until we got sick. There is no playbook for how to make a person with #ME feel included. It’s such a grossly disabling disease and the ONLY way our lives and relationships will get better is if modern medicine comes up with an approved treatment or treatments for this condition. That is to say, life would improve in every aspect if we could just feel better and become more functional. After all, the point of life is living. With #MECFS, you’re essentially just waiting to die.

@askaya I agree. Some women, once they settle in a relationship, start to be nagging and take the guy for granted. It also helps as a man in that situation to have a backbone and push back on the wife’s behavior.

@Loster So articulately expressed. You hit the nail right on the head. Thank you. And I hope you are able to find some improvement for your condition or at least the strength to endure.

I understand every word of this. I don't have MECFS but have had something very disabling for 20yrs The way things typically progress socially is *exactly as you describe*. People often, at some point, just decide it's actually just your habits or personality they've fallen out of love with... That then makes it just a personal preference to move away. They think that of course because the experience of being sick *basically all the time* is so out of the range of their own experience and expectations. Illness erects these invisible perspex walls between you and most other people. Only you can see that it's there. I try to imagine how I'd act if the roles were reversed. The truth probably is had I not been ill, I wouldn't be able to understand it either. So I dunno. It's hard to even blame anyone ultimately. But it's really hard anyway xxx. Thank heaven for the other people who've gone through similar, who get it. They help you keep your sanity. I'm sorry for all you've been through and are going through. I hope you find relief.
