@DaveyNT_ Two very different questions there. YouTube likely loses money on livestreaming, but it makes it up once people turn that live content into VODs or Shorts.

@Average_Jonas 100% agree with you. Companies pay to have ads on TV and people are always doing chores, falling asleep, even getting up to go do something. Why does twitch have this weird thought that you HAVE to be actively chatting/watching to count 🤔

I feel like such a huge portion of Twitch viewers above 20yo have your stream up on their TV/second monitor at work etc and I’ve noticed a lot of fellow streamers telling me that these lurking viewers just don’t count on your ccv anymore. I know Twitch is cracking down on bots but there has to be a better system that doesn’t hurt smaller streamers trying to grow as well as people with an “older” audience. Having to force your lurkers to engage in chat to maintain ccv seems not ideal. Thoughts? Reworking the account verification system maybe? I’m not sure what the best way is to kill bots but have every organic viewer count. My personal opinion is that a lurker is still a viewer, I watch tons of streams while doing chores, eat as well but it should still count IMO.

I know like 5 people are gonna see this but I need to rant I hate being chronically ill Not being able to bring my best to streams/content because of things I can’t control *SUCKS* Don’t get me started on trying to explain myself every time I *internally bleed* I feel like I’m failing and I don’t know what lies ahead..
