@JohnGonzalesLA1 I agree with everything you said, and frankly call BS on myself for not allowing musicians to educate, i.e. Bob Dylan Rubin "Hurricane" Carter, on and on. I also confess as bleeding early Springsteen still to this day. At some point though, he became pop velvet Elvis in my eyes.

I wondered where you fell on this given the fact that the image of you jumping up on the table on Martha’s Vineyard to dance to “Born to Run”. It’s all fine to me. I GENERALLY agree that I’d rather just have musicians not spend a lot of time on politics at concerts. I think this isn’t in “generally” territory. There are times when political rallying elevates. War, civil rights, etc.. Prominent voices, including musicians tend to speak up. I think that’s fine. I think not expressing some genuine concerns over the potential loss of money/profit is in some ways worse. That’s going to understandably ruffle some people’s feathers. Though I think musicians have historically been liberal, and Springsteen songs aren’t directly partisan politically, they do touch upon social realities. I think most people understand that while, in reality, 95% of the show will be music, he’ll do some political commentary that leans anti-administration in 5% of the time. If he spent 20 minutes of a 90 minute show on politics, without any advance notice of politics, I’d say he’s in the wrong. He’s not going to hit his old days 3.5+ hour show, but it’s not going to be short on music. I think he’s ok with knowing that the +/- 5% of the duration and the leaning will mean that 25% of the people who may have thought of going just won’t go. There may or may not be other less politically affected tours to go see him. Personally, we are going because of the nature of the show. Otherwise I just have a lot happening this week, and a lot of shows coming this year, so would have skipped it. But I am going to support him and the intent. Everyone should vote with their wallet if they see fit. Bruce has had enough of a career, has enough currency with most fans, and certainly has enough net worth to take whatever non-neutral stand he elects.

Springsteen is tonight and Thursday. Ticket prices for tonight have dropped some on StubHub and will likely drop more this afternoon. Right now, one can get a seat up in the top level for $140, and something straight back in the lower level for $240.

@Trad_Arch_Bdays The first building is better because it is “Architecture” in a Vitruvian sense, connected to culture, history, and vernacular defined as “Venustas”. The latter is a very beautiful grossly over-scaled sculpture with program put within it. It is not architecture. Peace!

Every year on April first I like to thank the past founders of the International Style and more contemporary guardians of anti-Vitruvian architectural ideologies like past Zaha Hadid & Frank Gehry for making our world so unique and different. Peace!

I always remember that stuffed lobster you and Cheryl made when we were on Martha’s Vineyard. We’ve talked about it ever since and still have never made it. I think that 1-3/4 to 2-1/2 lbs is the ideal, and almost never get anything over 3lbs. Especially as they charge a premium per pound, which thankfully they did not in this case ($16.50/lb). Turns out that this bad boy was tasty, but the meat yield per total weight was low. Those gigantic main claws were really heavy but not jammed with meat. In reality, the 7.1 pounder had the meat that you’d expect from a 5-5.5 pounder. Drank a 2018 Frank Bonville Oger with it. Probably my favorite grower bubbles right now.

Guess who's coming to dinner? When your Valentines Day tradition is Maine Lobster and your first source is out, your second wants $34 per pound, your third only has 1-1/4 pounders, you go to H-mart and find they only have a five left. Friendo here was the smallest and he clocks in at 7.1 pounds!! Biggest I've ever cooked. Probably didn't need to buy the filets for surf'n'turf.

My Steelers are out. My Rams are out but the Super Bowl party must go on. We always include a food pairing of dishes from each team’s city? New England Patriots call for lobster rolls, but what about Seattle??? Best I can think of is doing the Spago Smoked Salmon Pizzas. Other than salmon, what is Seattle known for ???

@moseskagan While I agree that the dirt should limit how much you spend, building or buying...the next priority should be about less square footage for better spatial design and more resilient materials... if you care about resale... and for most, this is a nest-egg. susanka.com/not-so-big-hou…

The most important thing to understand when considering which home to buy: Structures are temporary, malleable & depreciate over time. Land, in contrast, is permanent & (in good markets) appreciates. So: Focus first & foremost on the location, size & topography of the lot.

@DaveMacLachlan1 He has a lot of great songs, including Born to Run, but Jungleland is his best masterpiece of song content and flow.

@stevemouzon Camouflage is designed to disorient and confuse the brain…. Why would one use this confusion as a parti? The failed and ignorant argument is to break up a building mass to scale down large buildings. But I’m most cases the result is a dumpster fire.
