I get the feeling this ceasefire was just a ploy to buy 2 weeks of relative quiet on markets, while providing scope for an even greater build up of U.S forces.
By which time the U.S will have another carrier battlegroup and amphibious assault group in the Middle East.

The oil futures market is *so weird.*
Futures are pricing oil ~$40 less than physical spot prices.
Yet there’s no credible story where physical oil costs $40 less 1-2 months from now:
-ceasefire tenuous
-Hormuz at a trickle
-damage to oil infrastructure

I was speaking with one of my mainland China factory contacts today.
Apparently, a number of factories that relocated to Southeast Asia in recent years are now rapidly moving large parts of their production back to China. The main reason is that China has the energy capacity to keep factories running, whereas Southeast Asia is struggling with power shortages and skyrocketing energy costs.
This is happening especially among factories that maintained some production in China or still have good contacts there who can take on the manufacturing.

There is literally nothing at all that could energize Trump's base and indeed much of America than a photo-op of President Trump meeting and presenting awards to the two F-15 pilots they claim were rescued inside Iran.
It would literally flip the media script and provide a positive news story that would be enormously beneficial to Trump.
All would sympathize and support.
