@EricMacramalla Close to 0 reward for aiming to rank high in the regular season other than having home ice in first 2 games (which is questionable as many say that home ice matters only in game 7)
The NHL's playoff seeding format will result in one of the best three teams in the West gone after Round 1, and two of the top three teams gone after the second (Avs/Stars/Wild).
This is not defensible. Go with 1-8, etc. Guerin is right.
@ffssuzuki@fnveenie Unfortunately, he has no movement clause first 3 years which means team must put him on protection list. I have read that somewhere.
The progression of 22 yo #GoHabsGo 🇸🇰 Juraj Slafkovsky over his first 4 seasons in the #NHL (Pace of 82 games) :
2022-23 : 8G 13A 21PTS -27
2023-24 : 20G 30A 50PTS -19
2024-25 : 19G 34A 53PTS +4
2025-26 : 32G 40A 72PTS +6 *Projected
@bobbyfinnerty2 Reminds me when Lane started and everyone around him had to get used to playing with him - learn to expect a great pass out of nowhere at any point in the shift.
@HabsOnReddit People need to chill out. It's a game of bounces. We had a good bounce on Slaf's stick when he scored and Matheson had a bad bounce on his stick. Shit like that happens.
@HabsOnReddit Structure and rules are there. They are not being executed though. Young team making errors executing fixed systems and structures late in the game in a stressful tie moment. You can't but experience. Hopefully failing horribly few times will make them better long term.
@HabsOnReddit There are 2 ducks on the board and 1 hab (Guhle). One of the 3 available players (Hutson, Caufield, Demidov) should join in to make it 2vs2 on the boards. Hutson decides to do it which means closest forward - Caufield should take his spot in front of the net which doesn't happen
I feel like we stopped talking about it because it’s tiring bring it up constantly but the Habs man to man system still sucks.
Switching systems mid season isn’t ideal, but man, the definition of insanity is repeating the same mistakes with the same results
For those watching at home and who got a replay with commentary: are they saying that’s no goal because there was a whistle?
Because if they’re saying it was dislodged before it went in, that’s complete bullshit
@MaiettaSports I think some people don't understand that "winning draft" is about sum of players (not about comparing Slaf vs Cooley). Objectively (so far) Slaf + Hutson wins over other teams picking one good player (like Cooley or Gauthier)
David Reinbacher has looked real strong since Adam Engstrom went down with injury.
The details in his game are taking off, but still may be too early for NHL duty.
Positive signs in his breakouts, decisions under pressure and his offensive zone reads.
@EricMacramalla Agree! No rush/impatient/expensive moves. The plan is working - there is year-to-year progress. Only doing deals when they are really good - no afraid to wait or say no. Always having bigger/long term picture in front of them and not succumbing to stupid short term decisions.
The Canadiens management regime is smart, thoughtful and disciplined. Their approach and execution inspires confidence and trust. No trades today? That's totally fine.
