SEB Captain Ecke led a tabletop exercise today with HCSO personnel and HCOEM partners, strengthening our Family Reunification Center plan to ensure we’re prepared for any potential mass casualty incident. Planning, coordination, and readiness matter.

Congratulations to the newest graduates of our Lieutenant Leadership Class. Students were exposed to PIO concepts, HR functions, Leadership Styles, and other leadership topics that come with developing supervisors. Investing in leadership strengthens our entire agency. 👏

State and local law enforcement agencies trained side-by-side this week to complete our Field Force Operations course, led by the HCSO Special Response Group training team under SRG instructor Deputy Kevin Turek. Strong partnerships. Unified tactics. One mission. 👊 #HCSO

Last night, the @HCSOTexas Dive Team responded to Good Times Marina after a vehicle lost control and became submerged while backing down a boat ramp. Dive Team members arrived and assisted with the removal of the vehicle from the San Jacinto River. All occupants were able to safely exit the vehicle prior to it sinking. Safety reminder: Always place vehicles in park and engage the parking brake at boat ramps.

The Harris County Sheriff’s Office Industrial Unit met with the Port of Houston Police Department during their roll call to strengthen communication and collaboration protecting the Houston Ship Channel. Thanks to Chief Kinchen and his staff for the hospitality and partnership.

Members of the HCSO Marine Unit are in Washington, DC this week attending the MARSEC East Maritime Security Conference! Despite the chilly weather, the team is diving deep into networking with maritime security professionals, and exploring the latest strategies to protect our waterways. Very interesting sessions so far — staying sharp to serve our community better!

Huge shoutout to our outstanding HCSO K9 handlers for spending time with Cub Scout Pack 438! About 60 Scouts and their parents got an up-close look at our K9 partners, asked questions, and learned what these teams do every day. Proud of our team for showing up for the community!

Outstanding week of training in Canton, GA, at the Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office with a top-tier group of law enforcement professionals. Always grateful for the opportunity to teach those committed to serving their communities.

Proud to represent @HCSOTexas at the CISA Houston World Cup tabletop exercise. Great collaboration and problem-solving alongside our law enforcement partners to strengthen preparedness and coordination for major events.

Today our Sheriff hosted a HB33 tabletop exercise for ISD’s and charter schools in our county. Lead by the Special Enforcement Bureau, they did an amazing job. I was honored to be one of the patrol captains in attendance to watch and have discussion with these wonderful educators

Welcome back, K9 Ghost!! After a courageous pursuit through chest-deep water last week, Ghost helped capture a suspect who allegedly tried to drown him. His bravery and resilience are exactly why these four-legged heroes are invaluable to our team. 🐾💙

Even in chest-deep water, HCSO K9s continue the mission. Deputy Almeida and K9 Ghost put in exceptional work today to apprehend a suspect. Glad to report both are safe.

Thank you to the Harris County Sheriff’s Office Industrial Unit, District 3 Patrol, Harris County Fire Marshals, HazMat, and all agencies who responded to the industrial incident at Jacinto Port this morning. Great job by everyone involved.

This weekend, the Harris County Sheriff’s Office Maritime Tactical Operations Section—Marine, Dive, and Industrial Units—came together to celebrate the holiday season with a Christmas get-together. It was a great opportunity to step away from operations, strengthen teamwork, and recognize the dedication and hard work of our personnel throughout the year.
