With the great Simon Callow this morning at the hotel (now transformed) where Oscar Wilde died 125 years ago. I must ask Simon if he’d join us on @therosebudpod one day. Our past guests have included other “Oscars”: Stephen Fry & Rupert Everett as well as Merlin Holland.
Just a few thoughts.
When you’re in a Oncology ward nobody cares how much you earn.
Nobody cares what car you drive.
Nobody cares you work late because you think work is your priority.
Nobody cares about that next promotion.
I realised this when I was sat in that ward.

My musical tribute to Pauline Collins who has died aged 85. She was brilliant and award-winning in the film Shirley Valentine. But I will always remember her as parlourmaid Sarah Moffit in the 1970s ITV drama Upstairs, Downstairs.
