@BarryLenton @MarineAFC @resolve_legal That was a headscratcher as we played really well and should've been 4 up before their first goal and then we fell to pieces. Some of our decision making in the last half hour of that game was atrocious.

@MarineAFC @resolve_legal How on earth did we lose that? We gave them 3 goals and should have scored 6 ourselves. They needed a win to stay up and must have thought it was Christmas Day. Such a disappointing way in which to end an otherwise very good season. 1,456 there, too.

@CrosenderWay Such a frustrating one as we looked the better team for parts of that game. We got no luck there as we should've had at least one penalty and the offside seemed a bad call. The effort of the players was there. Just one of those nights. Great to see James Butler back though

@CrosenderWay No way did we deserve to lose, especially as they only had 2 shots all game but apart from that 20 min spell second half we were really poor today. We never got to grips with the conditions and too many players had poor games

Defeat at Haig Avenue as it ends Southport 2-1 Marine. On the balance of play we deserved something out of this. Fair to say with a run of 3 defeats on the road, a return to the MTA on bank holiday Monday cannot come soon enough.

Lost in the shuffle of tonight's internationals is Liechtenstein beating Tanzania in Rwanda. Tanzania are ranked far above Liechtenstein so that's an outstanding result

🤝 SQUAD UPDATE: We’re delighted to announce the signing of midfielder Marley Leuluai on a one-month loan from Premier League side Burnley. The New Zealand youth international has played 14 PL2 games so far this season, and mainly operates in defensive midfield, also capable as a defender. Leuluai was previously part of the Manchester City youth set-up prior to joining up with Burnley’s academy. The 19-year-old will wear squad number 18, and joins up with Bobby Grant’s side ahead of Saturday’s Isuzu FA Trophy semi-final at Wealdstone. We can also confirm that Bailey Marsden has departed the club by mutual consent. Bailey made 23 appearances during his time as a Mariner, scoring once. @DavidBolt4 Aye, a very much underrated city, as a lot of people fly in to go to Milan. Went post Covid for a Coppa Italia game, spent a day or so there.

On a bus from Milano to Bergamo, where Atalanta have just kicked off, with the Madonnina tomorrow. This was always a one game trip for me, but if anyone wanted to make a weekend of it, it wasn't helped by Serie A not finalising kick-off times until just eight days ago.
