Well, that was a deflating way to lose your first series of the season. Connelly Early deserved better. Yes, Greg Weissert crapped down his leg, but the Red Sox offense is going to need to do more than this. 0-for-6 with RISP... and a .179 mark for this series. You were able to cut down the strikeouts compared to yesterday, but just very little overall impact. Can’t be only Wilyer Abreu putting you on his back and you can’t afford dumb mistakes on the bases.

These comments from Alex Cora about balancing the playing time in the Red Sox outfield did stick out a bit yesterday: “It’s not easy… Whoever thinks that this is easy to move them around, they’re wrong. I’m going to say it like that. It’s not that easy, but I’ll make it work.”

@michaelFhurley Within 2 years, ABS will make the bad umps quit. They will finally be replaced with competent umps. Then ABS will only be relevant for 1 or 2 borderline pitches per game.

@JScout33 @joonlee The catcher would have to "reverse frame" a strike to make it look low, hope the batter is fooled, but not the ump, so the ump still calls a strike. Seems unreliable.

@joonlee I’d say no, as you’re intentionally trying to get a strike called a ball. Why would the batter challenge that? No points for being right, they’re trying for best result. Getting a strike called a ball is already a good result

Can someone please explain why our best shortstop is neither playing shortstop nor playing every day?

@GoldandBurner The way to win in college basketball is have a team of 26 year olds that foul every play.

Every single Arizona player is fouling a Purdue player on this rebound attempt. Braden thrown to the ground. No call.

The Red Sox blew all their ABS challenges early against the always horrible CB Bucknor and now he’s running amok like Jason Voorhees. I like ABS it’s a brand-new way to get aggravated during a baseball game.

@bamabyte Idk why you’re tweeting this. I’m saying Holloway didn’t murder anyone or was an accessory to a murder. He just had a lil weed on him. Let him play. Why the guilty conscious? Did something else happen?

@Johng3885 @mikerodak Absolutely not. No coach with any integrity is standing up for that. Drug possession misdemeanor charges? Sure. Other misdemeanor tickets? Sure. Murder/Accomplice to murder? Dealing drugs while you’re set to make millions of dollars? No other coach is sticking up for that.

Nate Oats on UNC job: "I'm not a guy that's always trying to jump around ... I love Alabama. My girls love Alabama. ... [Alabama] is doing everything we can to make sure we've got a competitive program. As long as we're able to compete to win championships here ... I'd love to be the coach to bring us our first national championship. "To me, there's absolutely no reason to leave here. ... I'm not a guy that's looking to get out of here any time soon."
