@DavidDPaxton @XLilliputian @JAHeale I can concede it seems unnecessary when we have supermarket value ranges, foodbanks etc. Better ways to address cost of living issues.
I just don’t think we’ve suddenly become Cuba or are about to. Government isn’t fixing food prices, nor will it.

@DavidDPaxton @XLilliputian @JAHeale I’m not bothered by it because it’s entirely voluntary. If the supermarkets didn’t want to do it they could just tell the government to do one. I don’t believe for a second this government would legislate or force the issue in some way. I’d be highly against them doing so

I don’t believe it is because they want state control of food prices. It is because they want a PR win - to say to people we helped you get a better deal from supermarkets
