I think it’s closer to $102k per person based on what I dug up. It would be cheaper for SF to hand out a $50k brick of cash to every homeless person every year. That would save over $400 million a year. That’s not my suggestion, but it’s an illustration of just how horrendous government can be at using tax payer dollars to run programs. Where is all this money actually going?

@mnhousegop @pattiandersonmn Well, it's important to remember Republicans say lots of things that aren't true. Especially the court adjudicated sex offender that was also convicted on 34 felony counts. Remember that the next time you go to the grocery store, #TFG was gonna lower prices on Day 1.

Vet here with similar experiences. 100% accurate! The lobster & crab legs report is fake news. That said, part of the same report said $50B was spent during a "use it or lose it" spending spree. That crap's been happening for ages and it ain't right.

Here is what a tax like this does: 1) It excites people with zero agency and infinite envy. Beware of these people. 2) It will keep middle class people firmly in the middle class with no real chance of getting wealthy if they stay in Washington State. It should be clear that this IS the strategy. Learned helplessness of the electorate will keep Washington State’s current elected officials in office. 3) It will never allow the upwardly mobile of building any assets or real wealth unless they move. Capping the American Dream is a dystopian and malevolent scheme. It cannot be a valid strategy. But unless droves of middle and upper middle class people leave Washington State, this strategy will win.

🚨BREAKING: Washington State passes their first ever income tax. Incomes over $1M/year will be taxed at 9.9%. Married couples share A SINGLE $1M exemption, so if combined incomes are more than $1M, you're getting taxed. This will obviously eventually extend beyond millionaires.
