@WallStreetApes If you extrapolate that to all the rocks in the US, the national debt is no longer and issue.

Even the price for buying rocks in America has skyrocketed These basic irregular rocks are priced at $175-$229+ per boulder In 2019, these same rocks would be priced at $20-$50. At name brand stores they’d go for around $80-$120 for the medium ones Overall rocks have increased in price about 40% just since 2019 We’re getting ripped off on literally everything in America…. And now rocks too?? Are we really going to accept paying hundreds of dollars for rocks that used to be $20 bucks….

@TMFScottP I'd add Removalists and Brokerages to that list. Renters will be moved on and stock investors will trade more imho. Whats the Polymarket on him buying a place in Melbourne?

@TMFScottP High dividend stocks look a lot better than they did yesterday if you are not paying over 30% tax rate anymore.

Really disappointed by the overreach of taxing Capital Gains at a minimum of 30% despite the taxpayers' marginal tax rate. A naked grab, and ignoring the fairness of assessing tax based on the taxpayers' marginal tax rate. Snatching defeat from the jaws of victory #Budget2026

@camorae5196 @TMFScottP I think this will incentivise allocating capital into dividend producing stocks in your situation. The tax-free threshold will apply as dividends are income and would you also get franking credits back?

@TMFScottP I was hoping to build a nest egg so my wife could retire. Thought the 1st 19k on her income for the year would've been tax free. 1st world issues ik. But it's an actual real world example of how this effects normal people. I'm only on 70k, wife's maybe on 40k. We're not rich

'Hit house prices' and 'Improve affordability' are the same thing, from different perspectives. If my house price is 'hit', but housing is more affordable for young Australians, sign me up.

Throughout history, every time somebody has tried to bomb somebody into oblivion to compel them to submit, it has always had the opposite effect. It hardens their resolve. So, why does anybody think that bombing Iran, a country as big as most of Western Europe, is going to bring them to their knees? Full interview: peakprosperity.pulse.ly/4njdlggbnq

@TMFScottP The Labor party is the original 'populist' party. Since populist is a poorly understood term and people try to use it as a slur really in both directions, I suggest finding a better descriptor.

Dear 'rustedons', You may hate, despise, and despair at the populists who are gaining electoral traction. And you can call them names and mock them and their supporters. But that will just embolden them. Want to reduce their impact? Make 'your team' better. That's how.

@TMFScottP The job replacement will be mostly in a reduction of new hires. Every current employee should already be ~30% more productive with today's AI. I expect employment to be static despite population growth.

This feels a bit dystopian, but nevertheless, it's the current reality, particularly for software companies. Maybe it doesn't last... or maybe it accelerates... but it's what's happening now, at WiseTech:

@TMFScottP I think I agree ... their best path to staying in power (their only real goal) is to have more and more people struggling, who only get by on the handouts. I know it sounds cynical, but it is true. They have no motivation to solve inequality long-term.

Too many points being scored in the #NRL. The six-agains might make it more 'exciting', but it's killing footy as we know it.

What album or two do you have in deep rotation at the moment? It could be from the archives or it could be a brand new selection.

Back in 2000 I was recording demos to write songs for a second album. Recently I've been digging through about 50 old MP3s and turning them into finished songs. I'm going to post a few in the coming days and see if you can tell who I was listening to back then. Here's the first.

If you are going to put in kikuku grass, my pro tip is not to leave it grow for 2-3 weeks, wait till its wet from the dew overnight before mowing it.. makes the process a lot harder. Eventually got it done. Will tackle the back jungle later today.

It's an unpopular view, but I think this is an excellent result. The right to protest is something we should guard zealously - as a principle, but if you need extra incentive, in case one day you're the protestor.
Prof Ben Saul - UN SR Human Rights & Counterterror@profbensaul

I welcome the NSW Court of Appeal's finding today that the NSW protest laws implemented after the Bondi terrorist attack impermissibly burdened the implied constitutional freedom of political communication and are invalid. Summary of judgment soon to be published
