At name brand stores they’d go for around $80-$120 for the medium ones Overall rocks have increased in price about 40% just since 2019 We’re getting ripped off on literally everything in America…. And now rocks too?? Are we really going to accept paying hundreds of dollars for rocks that used to be $20 bucks….

@TMFScottP High dividend stocks look a lot better than they did yesterday if you are not paying over 30% tax rate anymore.

Really disappointed by the overreach of taxing Capital Gains at a minimum of 30% despite the taxpayers' marginal tax rate. A naked grab, and ignoring the fairness of assessing tax based on the taxpayers' marginal tax rate. Snatching defeat from the jaws of victory #Budget2026

@camorae5196 @TMFScottP I think this will incentivise allocating capital into dividend producing stocks in your situation. The tax-free threshold will apply as dividends are income and would you also get franking credits back?

@TMFScottP I was hoping to build a nest egg so my wife could retire. Thought the 1st 19k on her income for the year would've been tax free. 1st world issues ik. But it's an actual real world example of how this effects normal people. I'm only on 70k, wife's maybe on 40k. We're not rich

@TMFScottP The Labor party is the original 'populist' party. Since populist is a poorly understood term and people try to use it as a slur really in both directions, I suggest finding a better descriptor.

@TMFScottP The job replacement will be mostly in a reduction of new hires. Every current employee should already be ~30% more productive with today's AI. I expect employment to be static despite population growth.

With respect, I've asked repeatedly, here, and on radio and TV, for anyone to tell me which legislation or regulation the government has passed to reduce upward pressure on prices. Not handouts. Not temporary excise cuts. Not home-price-boosting guarantees. Actual policy.

If you are going to put in kikuku grass, my pro tip is not to leave it grow for 2-3 weeks, wait till its wet from the dew overnight before mowing it.. makes the process a lot harder. Eventually got it done. Will tackle the back jungle later today.

It's an unpopular view, but I think this is an excellent result. The right to protest is something we should guard zealously - as a principle, but if you need extra incentive, in case one day you're the protestor.
