I knew I was trans when I was 14 years old in 2001, in a small farm town with no peers to teach me anything about that stuff. I figured it out on my own. I'm 39 now. If I was old enough to be tried as an adult before a jury of my peers in a court of law, then I sure as hell deserved to be treated as an adult by medical professionals and supportive peers.
