Sangare - not seen a lot of him, but based on this comp that everyone’s sharing👇, I don’t see what he brings that Gravenberch doesn’t already. Personally, I don’t like the idea of another ball carrier. Grav already exposes us when he loses it up the pitch. We need a guy who can pass it 20/30 yards from deep - Xabi Alonso, Rodri type. This style of player helps you move the ball forward faster AND protects vulnerability against transitions. #LFC

@SeanDOlfc The risk is that they don't want to end up like Chelsea. Go through the storm and see what happens. They are taking a risk, not just the one you want.

What genuinely is the risk with hiring Alonso? It’s an easy win for FSG and the board. If it doesn’t work out, no one’s gonna be saying Slot should’ve stayed because we lose every week with him lol

@Sinonimolo @nas1rs This is exactly what keeps me reserved. We usually know next to nothing about what will work or won't. Pretty sure Amorim would have been mentioned if he was still at Sporting. I like the idea of Alonso, but if they believe he's not worth the risk, I won't be bothered.

And managers are paid duly well for their services. Booing the lack of standards in such a high value job with life changing money, is part of the job. Not personal abuse but bemoaning what you believe is not worth the money that these managers earn regardless of poor performances.

I'm not sure it's hate. Klopp got the same criticism. With the popular, he runs down his teams in his 6th season theory going about. Losing 18 games a season warrants criticism at a club like Liverpool. It's inevitable that anyone would be compared to Klopp especially with 'how' we lose and not 'why' we lose being in our faces. Slot says he knows why but can't do anything about it. We the fans are stuck with How we lose.

This is a bad argument and if it's the only reason people want Alonso, then I see why the hierarchy won't take the risk. Were Madrid the best OOP team or Leverkusen? Let me guess quality of players right? Does Alonso improve us definitely or is Slot just having a bad year? What you are saying is a new manager improves us automatically, which isn't always the case.

@mlupescu0509 @LFCData And how would you know that has he coached Liverpool before?? And this is not even me backing him or saying he would be better but you guys would rather Slot continues and see us die than actually say the truth and see us improve just crazy

A progressive passer in the middle does not solve our out of possession issues. It doesn’t improve our fitness and work rate. Wharton and two new wingers doesn’t make us better at defending set pieces. None of this fixes 80% of our issues.

Xabi Alonso turning up at Anfield as Chelsea manager would be pretty fucking sickening, wouldn't it? shocked Liverpool haven't made a move.

I've never seen fans be right about a managerial appointment. I also don't think Xabi is a Klopp. Because Klopp turned down the United job and only got the Liverpool job because it was Liverpool. I don't like Slot, but I don't think we all are right about Xabi. It feels like Semenyo and Guehi heading to City. I'm not too bothered.

Xabi Alonso stayed unemployed waiting for Liverpool to come calling. If we pass on that because we’re still debating the future of a man that lost 18 games this season, then this club is not serious at all

🚨 Chelsea exploring deal to appoint Xabi Alonso as next head coach. 44yo former #RMFC boss understood to be open to possibility, although nothing decided yet as process continues. Andoni Iraola also strong contender ahead of departing #AFCB @TheAthleticFC nytimes.com/athletic/69645…

@JDaneH94 Hmm. You know it's not just about the results right. It's the performance, it's the heart. It's him not being very likable in the press conferences. There's a way to win that's convincing. Let's see anyways.

Going into next season I’ve never wanted a manager to succeed as much as I do with Slot. I genuinely mean that because there’s barely anyone willing to give him a chance which really does baffle me. Hope he shuts a lot of people up early on next season

@GooalMouth Now you are being disingenuous with the details. Are you going to say that it was just Virgil who was unavailable? Are you ignoring the injuries that followed afterwards? Didn't we have the most CB combination in a season record broken?

Its funny. When we scraped 4th under Klopp after winning the league everyone called it a miracle because of our CB injury crisis. Bear in mind everyone else was still very much available. We were top of the leaue after Van Dijk sufffered the injury. This season, we have had significant injuries @ RB and up front. We have had to play midfiders at RB, overplay players like Hugo and play wingers up front. Oh and our best player declined to average levels. One season is praised as a miracle, the other is projected as a failure. Go figure that one out.
