@SamsonMKasumba We all want justice; but when emotions run high, sometimes it's so mindly reasonable that we want it our way. You, as a father of daughters, would the “rule of law” be enough if it were your girls, God forbid? Or does it start to feel like the law ruling over justice?

If you want to be eaten alive in Kampala remind Ugandans that the senseless killer of babies in Ggaba is entitled to bail. There will be a lawyer who will represent him and apply for his bail I would assume. On this occasion let me also wait and see humans rights groups demand his bail as his right. It is hypocritical to pick and choose when we scream bail and when we go mute on bail.

Especially the Arua Municipality by-election @JCWamala

Congratulations, @ntvuganda, on celebrating 20 incredible years of excellence in broadcasting. Having had the privilege to work with you for 7 years, I remain proud to have been part of a team that has shaped journalism and storytelling in Uganda. Those years were filled with learning, growth, and unforgettable experiences. The Arua Municipality by-election , the parliamentary sessions and the nullified and repeated Kenyan elections of 2017 are some of those memorable stories I told. Happy 20th Anniversary!

@KwikirizaNova Frustration with internal politics often fuels these judgments. But alignment in media ownership isn’t unique; look at stations like Citizen TV's and KTN whose sense of editorial independence is relatively strong despite local ownership. Give the transition at NMG time.

The reports about a Tanzanian businessman and former politician Rostam Aziz taking over NMG marks a major shift in the region’s media landscape. For decades, the Aga Khan’s stewardship, rooted in Kenya’s relatively open democratic space and a tradition of editorial independence, helped position the media house as a platform where professional journalism could still speak for the oppressed and hold power accountable. But ownership shapes editorial culture. When a media institution moves from a tradition of principled, institutional guardianship to the hands of a former political actor and a businessman who is already closely aligned with the region’s powerful dictators like Suruhua and Ruto, the incentives change. Friendships with sitting dictators may be good for business, but rarely for fearless journalism. This transition marks the gradual end of one of the last major professional reporting institutions in the region. The forthestate has been buried!

@DanielLutaaya @DailyMonitor It’s true he doesn't spend the night there, but he’s in Entebbe about four times a week on average, except when he’s upcountry or abroad. Entebbe residents can confirm this, especially with the routine SFC presence clearing and monitoring his convoy movements daily.

@DailyMonitor The guy doesn’t even sleep there. State house is just his office. And unless he is meeting foreign delegates, he is never there.

PHOTOS: A group of NRM supporters drawn from different parts of the country has camped in Entebbe for nearly two weeks in an attempt to gain access to State House to meet President Museveni over what remain unclear grievances. The group, which includes persons with disabilities, has been staying at Kitubulu-Katabi Forest Playground, where some have been sleeping in the open. Security personnel from the Special Forces Command (SFC), supported by police, have blocked them from advancing toward State House. They are also prevented from accessing the main road whenever the President’s motorcade passes through the area. This comes a month after Mr Museveni was declared winner of the recently concluded general election, securing a seventh term in office. #MonitorUpdates 📸: @KamanaIvan

Hudu! German theologian Dietrich Bonhoeffer once argued that the philosophy of stupidity ultimately forces one to look inward. It is easy to identify it in others; leaders, crowds, and institutions. It is harder to detect it within one's self.

Guys, any gathering, of more than 50 people, moreover, opposition leaders..., in this post election season, can not merely be looked at as innocent "HOLY MASS" Why is it that there has never been any such Mass b4? @KagutaMuseveni is miles away in strategy...come on @NUP_Ug

My first day in the field, filing and executing a story for NBS live @ 9, was because of you, Josephine. It was the launch of ECCMIS in courts ( I recall). Your tough love shaped my execution and delivery. You’re my very first mentor in this game, and I’ll always be grateful.
Josephine Namakumbi@NamakumbiJ

Dear colleagues, friends, sources, mentors, and loyal viewers, THANK YOU. I am truly overwhelmed by the love, prayers, messages, and unwavering support you’ve shown me.

What does it take to cover an election beyond the headlines? @DavidIjjo , one of our proud #MediaFellowshipUG alumnus working at @ntvuganda, was there for every moment of Uganda's General Elections and now he's ready to share what it was really like.

@LarryMadowo Larry Madow, journalism demands impartiality, balance, and respect for the society it serves. It is not a license for provocation or selective outrage. Respect for our Supreme Leader is not optional it is foundational.

I consider it a compliment that this nepo baby calls me a traitor (msaliti). The role of journalism is to speak truth to power, not to praise fragile bullies who celebrate extrajudicial killings
