@mumbletwits Every bit of territory given over to Russian control will be illegally occupied under an ethnocidal regime that the Freedom in the World Index gives its lowest rating ever in 53 years of operation. Minus 1 out of 100! Gaza is 2, and North Korea 3.

The quote is inaccurate. However, Rubio first says Zelensky told "a lie" when he said US told him he has to give up territory to get security guarantees. But then says it's up to Ukraine, if they want sec guarantees they have to agree to Russia's terms (ie give up territory). 🤪
Railsplitter Fella 🇺🇦 🇪🇺@Rail_splitter1

“We just told Zelensky the guarantees won't kick in until he does what russia wants.” This is the Secretary of State of the United States telling the victim of aggression that it must do what the aggressor wants. Never forget. Vote them all out.

@cricketcomau What the fuck is wrong with you people? Why should you stop any kind of expression, political or otherwise, on people’s clothing? We are paying, it’s a free country.

@mickitiki @JohnCleese Your historical dimwittedness is quite funny. I don’t suppose you could even guess when the last one of those takeovers was. Christians were only a minority in today’s Iraq when the Arab invasions came, and it was probably the same in the Jordan area.

NEW: Pope Leo XIV just called for the permanent abolition of aerial bombing — a first for any pope. “Airplanes should always be vehicles of peace, never war. No one should have to fear that threats of death and destruction might come from the sky.” The demand came as Trump’s war against Iran entered week four. thelettersfromleo.com/p/pope-leo-xiv…

While attention is on Iran 👀Putin has unleashed nearly 1,000 drones on Ukrainian cities in the past 24 hours. This is the LARGEST barrage of the war. It is a ruthless assault on civilians. Europe must not look away. Ukraine’s fight is our fight. 🇺🇦

@jacobgreber Don’t say the Coalition is “angry” about the EU FTA. You don’t know whether they are angry or posing as such. More likely the latter given anyone could tell you it would be difficult for anyone to get more from an economy > 10 times ours.

@viktorikolibri @ASabadus UN figure of 15,000 VERIFIED civilian deaths is a gross underestimate & distortion. Its only tip of the iceberg- UN has never been allowed into check the number of deaths in areas under Russian occupation. Likely 10s of 1000s in places like Mariupol, upwards of 100,000 in total.

🕯More than 15,000 civilians, including 775 children, have been killed since the start of Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine, according to the UN Another 42,144 civilians, including 2,588 children, have been injured. In February of this year alone, at least 188 civilians were killed and 757 were injured, which is 45% more than during the same period last year 💔 UN Deputy Secretary-General DiCarlo emphasized that the number of victims is likely much higher. And it’s definitely not just likely!

Told the Security Council today that Russia’s full-scale invasion unleashed nearly 1500 days of death, destruction and despair. The violence now is worse than ever. A full, immediate and unconditional ceasefire is imperative. A just peace must be the goal webtv.un.org/en/asset/k13/k…

@stephendziedzic Sad the "sugar tax" introduced because of the Aus-US FTA is long forgotten. We had a tax on sugar and milk for years - the "builder's tea tax" until Dec 2006.

Rory Stewart thinks it’s just not cricket to take out evil regimes when they can shoot bus-sized, nuclear-capable missiles at you. You need to let the threat grow exponentially so you can have a proper world war with millions dead like the good old days

Retired 4-star admiral and former Navy SEAL William H. McRaven—the man who oversaw the mission that killed Osama bin Laden—delivered a blistering assessment of President Donald Trump. McRaven’s comments stood out not just for how direct they were, but for who they came from: a highly respected military leader warning about leadership, unity, and America’s standing in the world.

Actually, Jack, I was at Sydney Uni with Albo in early 80s, and - while being virulent opponent of Trotskyism - he got a Bachelor of Economics in 1984, one of 44 degrees held by 23 member of his Cabinet. Dr Chalmers has three. Ms Hanson left school at 15. Want to play again?

Chat GPT tells me on current results One Nation preferences (where ON excluded) split 51-53% in favour of Liberals over Labor (47-49). No idea how accurate this is, but closer than one would expect, obv (Yuge ALP primary win wd suggest somewhat better ON flows to them than usual)
