Great advisors literally help on every part of your financial life
Here’s my most recent signed client:
- owns 3 businesses
- makes 2.5mil a year
- has 2mil in cash on the sidelines
- has no tax strategy
- no estate plan
- same basic insurances since they were a young low income earner
- planning to buy land and build but no idea what they can afford, how much to put down, etc
- plans to sell main business in 3 years
But sure… they just need help from us on index funds
We will probably talk investment portfolio for 5 minutes of the first year and 40+ hours of planning on everything else

For the love of God…paying a fee doesn’t automatically mean you make less. We’ve seen clients pay no fees and lose hundreds of thousands more than paying someone 1%.

1% investment fee per year will lower your portfolio by ~25.8% over 30 years. 0.10% investment fee per year will lower it by only ~3% over 30 years. That 22.8 percentage point difference could cost you $$$. Fees also compound. Pay attention.

As a flat-fee advisor I have no dog in this fight. The fee isn't the problem. The value relative to the fee is.
A 1% fee that keeps you invested, coordinates your taxes, and proactively plans around Medicare premiums, Roth conversions, and insurance subsidies, etc? Worth every penny.
Most advisors aren't doing that. They're doing enough not to get fired and still charging 1%.
The list of things most advisors don't do is longer than the list of things they actually do.

@TKopelman @CPATaxTeam The statement he lays out is absolutely accurate as you can invest in index funds without paying an advisor. It’s not a dumb statement though using an advisor may be worth the added value of the person is an unsophisticated investor.

You can apply this to any service and you’ll have millions less:
- paying a realtor
- having a house cleaner
- paying a cpa
- hiring in your business
- never paying to a restaurant
- etc

It's insane to how much private health insurance costs:
As a family of 3 we pay ~$1,800/mo with a $5,000/yr deductible.
Also our health insurance company raised our rate by 20% last year.
...Why is there such little support for self-employed people!?

Random thought about the 1994 PSU team - we ran that offense without a single play in the gun. KC was under center every play.
47+ pts a game, a near perfect balance between running yards and passing yards. The only stat we didn't dominate was time of poss - scored too quick.

Only a matter of time. The States and Feds are currently fighting over if these sites are actually gambling, which the States have authority over (the Fed calls them 'financial event contracts', wtm). IMO, these sites are far riskier than just gambling as they actively manipulate

#Raiders DE Maxx Crosby addressed the fallout of his trade to Baltimore in the latest episode of @TheRushWithMaxx: - Ravens flew him to DC on Monday, then had to drive to Bmore. - He didn't meet with HC Jesse Minter and GM Eric DeCosta until the end of the day after he had his physical and MRI. "I didn't see [EDC] for five hours." - He said the energy was off when he finally met Minter and EDC, who informed him that one of the doctors had concerns w/ his knee and was going to get more opinions. - When Crosby went back to the hotel, his agents told him that they think Baltimore will back out of the deal. - A member from the Ravens called Crosby and said they were going to get the deal done. Five minutes later, Crosby receives a call from his agent, saying Baltimore has backed out of the deal. - "No one will ever admit what the real truth is. Ultimately, it doesn't matter. I am where I'm supposed to be," Crosby said.
