@NoMoreWilpons There will be a 2027 season. It’ll be like the last time when they wait until the last possible minute to make a deal. But there’s too much money for everyone to make to actually not have a season.
English

@BMiggy It’s wild how fans talk about 24 being “Eppler’s team” when he was responsible for literally two players.
English

Imagine being this delusional
Tommy DeSimone@tjpsimone
@BMiggy Eppler did most of the heavy lifting. Are you a Mets fan?
English

@JohnSGibb @01Starblazer And one of the reasons the Mets have been such a mess is they’ve had like six GMs over the last 7 years. It’s very hard to build a consistent culture that way.
English

@DavidLove26 @01Starblazer So don't keep me in suspense! How does a front office work? What am I missing?
English

@JohnSGibb @01Starblazer POBOs do all the hiring, they put systems and policies in place. They oversee the whole operation. It takes several years for a new person to build things.
Stearns’s second in command took over. I’d think most of the things he put in place are still there.
English

@JohnSGibb @01Starblazer Posts like this are a fundamental misunderstanding of how a front office works.
English

@01Starblazer I'm kind of amazed that there's no "How in the world had Milwaukee thrived without Sterns???" stories out there. That in itself kinda proves their (continued) success wasn't about him.
English

AND HE GETS VERY LITTLE CREDIT FOR THE 2024 TEAM.
A MAJORITY OF THAT TEAM WAS EPPLER’S GUYS
Maxim@MaximTexier5836
DO THE STEARNS DEFENDERS REALIZE THAT ALL THE BREWERS HAVE DONE SINCE HE LEFT IS SUCCEED AND BE A PLAYOFF CONTENDER. EVER SINCE THE METS GOT STEARNS WE HAVE HAD THE 2 MOST DISASTROUS SEASONS IVE EVER FUCKING SEEN.
English

@nickythegood Wild how you’re talking about engagement when you have like…ten likes.
And why was no one at all trying for him in 2024?
English

@DavidLove26 You have gotten zero engagement on any response for a reason.
Again, you idiot, IT DEPENDS ON WHAT THE TEAMS NEED, THAT IS HOW MARKETS DEVELOP.
Why did the Orioles sign Alonso and not The D Backs. Look at the roster … cmon, fella you can do it.
English

For the morons out there who are in my comments saying “Pete left, move on”
Allow me to explain to you in 90 seconds why this tweet wasn’t about Pete Alonso
Nicky The Good@nickythegood
Pete Alonso played first base every game and every single inning David Stearns is a generational idiot
English

@PagaJames @ZachGatsby @BleacherReport Any team that has a shortstop would just play them instead of trading them for lindor.
English

@ZachGatsby @BleacherReport I do not like the trade as a Mets fan. You already have Ewing, Soto and Benge as outfielders for the foreseeable future. If we are trading away Lindor (which I am not against) I’d like to try to get back a corner infielder or shortstop rather than an another outfielder.
English

🚨RUMOR: Red Sox Linked to Francisco Lindor
Per @BleacherReport, here’s what a potential trade package between the Mets and Red Sox could look like:

English

David Stearns’ #Mets offseason additions have been nothing short of a disaster.
• Bo Bichette: .256 AVG, .677 OPS
• Luis Robert Jr.: .211 AVG, .643 OPS
• Tobias Myers: 6.26 ERA in 46.0 IP
• Devin Williams: 4.68 ERA, 1.65 WHIP
• Jorge Polanco: .173 AVG, .489 OPS
• Marcus Semien: .207 AVG, .595 OPS
• Freddy Peralta: 5.01 ERA in 109.2 IP
Nearly every major addition has dramatically underperformed in 2026. It’s hard to imagine a worse offseason from a baseball operations standpoint.

English

@nickythegood Diamondbacks have a bigger payroll than the Orioles do, just FYI. And all those teams could easily afford him.
You’re just a child. An embarrassingly over confident child.
How come no one at all was interested in 2024?
Grow up junior.
English

@DavidLove26 Lololooo Dback Reds Cleveland Pitt
ALL THE BIG SPENDERS lol
They don’t even count. Jesus kid
English

@nickythegood This isn’t that hard. And you think you’re some kind of genius?
Yankees, Cubs, mariners, Red Sox, Diamondbacks, Cleveland, Pittsburgh. And Pete could also be signed as a DH, which opens the pool further.
Pirates made a play for Schwarber and not for Pete. Says a lot.
English

Who are the other 4? You’re not using any context. You’re just using numbers like moron Stearns. Payrolls, budgets, needs of team, this all matters.
Was Pete Alonso’s production as important to those teams as it was the Mets? Answer. NO.
It’s not black and white. You can’t just say “they didn’t show interest either”. The needs are different. We had no one on the roster lol. We didn’t even sign Bo yet.
Another win for me. Keep going. I enjoy being right.
English

@nickythegood lol you’re gonna completely ignore that you said there were only 2 first basemen and there were like 6. You’re so completely silly. Good lord.
English

@DavidLove26 Did you respond to yourself in a tweet? Anyway …
The Yankees had Ben Rice? Goldschmidt is a backup? The Mariners kept their own player? Like the Mets should have? What a concept.
You’re almost too easy to laugh at. Go teach music. Take a lap kiddo
English

@nickythegood Overall there were like 7 first basemen signed. The only teams that talked to Pete were the cubs and the Red Sox, who made him an offer similar to what the Mets signaled interest in.
You’re an idiot.
English

@nickythegood lol dude are you serious? The Yankees signed a 37 year old coming off a .730 OPS season rather than even talk to Pete.
Pittsburgh didn’t even talk to him.
The Mariners signed Naylor and didn’t even consider Pete.
The Diamondbacks have a black hole and didn’t talk to him.
English

Pete Alonso played first base every game and every single inning
David Stearns is a generational idiot
SNY Mets@SNY_Mets
Luis Torrens is playing first base for just the second time this season
English

#METS allow these spoiled millionaires to have a SCHEDULED DAY OFF? Today we have $51 million day man JUAN SOTO relaxing on bench? Must be very hard life playing a baseball game for 2-3 hours, while the fans need to work 10 hours to buy a ticket to the game?
English
